Total Base Race – New York Mets/Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies get a matchup against Steven Matz, who has struggled with a 4.97 xFIP through 66.2 road innings in 2019. He has given up a .283 average with a .496 slugging percentage and a .346 wOBA to left-handed batters this season. He has also allowed right-handed batters to post a .252/.433/.313 line against him in 2019. Trevor Story has been an elite option at home, where he’s hitting for a .330 average with a .663 slugging percentage and a 1.064 OPS through 69 games. He boasts 44 extra-base hits (22 home runs) in those games, as well. Story possesses 30% hard hit and 45% fly ball rates to go along with a 93 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. He has been slightly better against right-handed pitching this season, but he has found plenty of success against lefties in 2019. Arenado has been a more consistent option against left-handed pitching, as he brings a 0.039 wOBA differential against lefties into this game. He has also caught fire recently, posting a .375 average with a .844 slugging percentage and a 1.379 OPS over his last 10 games. He has recorded seven extra-base hits (four home runs) in those contests, as well. Arenado enters this game with 54% hard hit and 58% fly ball rates to go along with a 94 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Antonio Senzatela will be taking the mound for Colorado tonight. He has struggled with a 5.20 xFIP and a 5.62 SIERA through 22 starts this season. Senzatela has been at his worst against left-handed batters, allowing them to hit for a .349 average with a .567 slugging percentage and a .414 wOBA. He has also given up a .304/.487/.355 line to his opponents at home this season. Robinson Cano has been playing well over his last 10 games (9 since returning from injury), boasting a .400 average with a .733 slugging percentage and a 1.206 OPS over that span. He owns four extra-base hits (three home runs) in those games. Cano owns 44% hard hit and 29% fly ball rates with a 95 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days, as well. He brings 0.046 wOBA and 0.109 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching into this game. There are a plethora of different ways you can go in this game, but this trio makes quite a bit of sense.
