The Toronto Blue Jays get an elite matchup against Chandler Shepherd tonight. He has only thrown in three games (one start) this season, posting a 5.21 xFIP and a 4.92 SIERA. He has struggled more against right-handed batters, allowing them to hit for a .308 average with a .500 slugging percentage and a .383 wOBA. He has also given up a .235/.471/.288 line to left-handed batters this season. Shepherd has allowed his opponents to post a .313/.438/.374 line on the road, as well. Keep in mind, he has seen very limited innings this season. Cavan Biggio has caught fire recently, posting a .429 average with a .738 slugging percentage and a 1.205 OPS over his last 10 games. He owns seven extra-base hits (two home runs) over that span. Biggio has possesses 34% hard hit and 44% fly ball rates with a 93 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Jonathan Villar has been playing well recently, as he’s hitting for a .256 average with a .488 slugging percentage and a .822 OPS over his last 10 games. He has posted five extra-base hits (two home runs) in those contests, as well. Villar enters this game with 38% hard hit and 47% fly ball rates to go along with a 91 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. He brings 0.05 wOBA and 0.033 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching into this game. He’s also expected to lead off for the Baltimore Orioles, giving him extra at-bats in this game.
