Bales’ Premium PrizePicks – MLB Player Props 8/12/19

Joey Votto has gone under-appreciated by the large majority of baseball fans for most of the 2019 campaign, but his fantasy numbers have been quite good. Despite a batting average under .200 in his last 10 games, he is averaging over 8 fantasy points per game due to his 2 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 2 stolen bases. Tonight, he gets a good matchup against the right-handed Erick Fedde, entering the game with a positive 0.059 ISO differential. The Cincinnati Reds are expected to score over five runs tonight, and Votto should continue to hit second in the batting order. In the last 15 days, Votto has been crushing the ball with an average exit velocity on batted balls of 97 MPH, a fly ball rate over 45%, and a hard hit rate over 50%. His PrizePicks total is set a little bit too low, and bettors should take advantage.

Matt Adams is another under-appreciated player. Perhaps, so under-appreciated that PrizePicks thinks he is currently playing for the Boston Red Sox. He is not. Adams will start tonight for the Washington Nationals against the Cincinnati Reds and Anthony DeSclafani. He is expected to hit fifth in the order, which could open up an RBI opportunity or two. On the season, he has a great 0.069 HR/AB, and in his last 10 games, he is hitting over .250. The Nationals are expected to score over 5 runs, and in the last 15 days, Adams has good advanced metrics. With an average exit velocity on batted balls of 94 MPH and a hard hit rate of 35%, extra base hits are not out of the question. He only needs an RBI double to hit on PrizePicks, and DeSclafani is prone to allowing extra-base hits.
