Bobby’s Batter Up – Top MLB DFS Stacks and Sleepers for Monday 9/10/18

As you could of guessed, Matt Carpenter is the top play here where his statistics are just through the roof!

I have been spending a TON of time doing NFL research so this MLB article will be a bit shorter today but be sure to check out all our NFL DFS content for this week’s games.

Top Stacks

One of the most important concepts to understand in DFS MLB is stacking. Watch our daily YouTube (Click here to auto-subscribe and be notified of our streams as soon as we go live!) live podcast for more information on this understanding/mindset.

Keep in mind it is ok to stack 4 guys or 3 from the same team.  This mathematically increases your chances of cashing in tournaments.  It isn’t as necessary to stack in cash games (double ups/heads up).

Below is our rankings starting from the best at number 1.

1. New York Yankees

Yankees (-220) – This is a tough slate with not to many big totals on the board and not a lot of great spots for offenses so I want to stick with what I would consider my best bet on the slate for a big game in the New York Yankees who are in a game with a 8.5 O/U in Minnesota which is a very hitter friendly park.

They are facing Kyle Gibson who has made major improvements over years past improving his SIERA by .43 over last season which is substantial, the only bad thing for Gibson is that his SIERA was so bad last year, this major improvement has not led to him becoming a “good” pitcher.

It currently sits above 4.2 which is considered below average and the Yankees lineup, as we know, is elite.  Rookie phenom, Miguel Andujar, is the top play (possibly on the slate PT/$) where he owns a 133 wRC+/.369 wOBA/.224 ISO line against RHP and is only priced at 4.4k on Draftkings.

Look to surround him with players such as Aaron Hicks, Gleyber Torres, Didi Gregorious, and Giancarlo Stanton in a stack where they all profile extremely well against Gibson.

My favorite one-off play is Miguel Andujar

My best bet for a home run is Giancarlo Stanton

2. St. Louis Cardinals

Cardinals (-113) –  I am not excited about targeting Trevor Williams, as every time I seem to check the box start where he pitches he’s gone 6-7 innings with 0-1 ER’s.  But Trevor Williams is #bad and his 4.88 SIERA backs us up.

The Cardinals have hitter’s who absolutely mash RHP and perform much better at home (which they are today).  As you could of guessed, Matt Carpenter is the top play here where his statistics are just through the roof with a 150 wRC+/.393 wOBA/.291 ISO line.

Jose Martinez, Yairo Munoz (if in the lineup – he should be), Yadier Molina, and Paul DeJong profile the best here against Williams.  Although Vegas only implies the Cardinals for 4.1 runs I feel confident we’ll hit the over here on a tough slate.

My favorite one-off play is Matt Carpenter

My best bet for a home run is Jose Martinez

Bobby’s SLEEPER BOMB’S

Javier Baez (5k) = 141 wRC+/.274 ISO/.933 OPS

Ryan Braun (4k) = .281 ISO/.884 OPS/ 129 wRC+

Good luck everyone let’s hit this slate out of the park!
