JRueb’s MLB DFS Hitter Breakdown (4/8)

Welcome everyone to Rueb’s Hitter Breakdown! This season I will be going into detail about my favorite hitters on the main slate for each day. If you would like to pick up a Core plays subscription, you can do so here. Now is the time to sign up for our Core plays! We are running a 25% off promo for a limited time, use promo code MLB2021.

Let’s get into it!

Studs:

Trevor Story: The Rockies are sporting the highest team total on the slate. The wind is blowing in today at Coors but that should stop Story from being one of the highest-scoring players on the slate. We have some great high-end pitching options so it may be difficult to jam him in, but if prioritizing a spend up, Story may be your guy.

Rafael Devers: I love this spot for Devers and I think he may go under the radar today. Devers has had a slow start to his 2021 compaign. When Matt Harvey is on the bump, its a good time to turn your season around. Harvey had some success in spring training, but I think that was a flash in the pan. Harvey still allows a lot of hard contact and his control is in question. Devers is a great GPP target that I may even deploy in cash games.

Value:

Michael Conforto/Brandon Nimmo: Going back to the Mets today versus journeyman Nick Neidert. Neidert is still young but has had a ton of walk and control issues throughout his career, This bodes well for Brandon Nimmo who is one of the more patient hitters in baseball. Conforto is still underpriced today and I will continue to target him at his under 4k price tag.

Kyle Garlick/Byron Buxton: Yesterday the Twins let everyone down. I love going back to them today. They get soft-throwing lefty, Marco Gonzalez, on the hill today. I don’t even consider Garlick/Buxton my favorite twins bats, but they have the best price tags of the bunch. I will be invested in this Twins offense again at hopefully low ownership.

Stacks:

Mets: Nimmo-Lindor-Conforto-Alonso

Twins: Polanco-Garlick-Cruz-Buxton

Red Sox: Kike-Verdugo-Devers-Martinez

Bold Calls:

Double Dong: Nelson Cruz

1% Dong: Byron Buxton
