Huascar Ynoa

Ynoa struggled quite a bit for the Atlanta Braves in 2020. He didn’t record a win or loss, posting a 5.82 ERA, and a 1.66 WHIP over 9 games (5 starts). He also struggled with a 5.39 xFIP and a 5.38 SIERA. Ynoa only posted a 17% strikeout rate in 2020, although he boasted an 11.1% swinging-strike rate. He did hold his opponents to a 5.9% barrel rate. Throughout his short career, Ynoa’s been significantly better at home, where his xFIP dips to 3.49 and his strikeout rate increases to 26%. He’s also dominant against right-handed batters, recording a 3.16 xFIP and a 27.2% strikeout rate against them.

Ynoa gets a great matchup against the Chicago Cubs tonight. They lead the slate in strikeouts per at-bat while featuring a below-average offense in team wOBA. Ynoa’s a -125 favorite in a game set at 8.5 runs, giving the Cubs an implied team total of 4.1 runs. He’s performed better this season, as he owns a 2.86 xFIP and a 29.8% strikeout rate thus far. Most importantly, Ynoa’s recorded 21.7 and 29.1 fantasy points in his 2 home starts this season. He’s likely to garner some ownership tonight, although it could be similar to Ian Anderson last night, making him an outstanding tournament option.
