Max Scherzer: Scherzer is clearly the top pitcher on the slate and I expect he will be rather popular. No one really matches his upside on this slate and I will be locking him in.

Trevor Rogers: Rogers will be my preferred SP2 on today’s slate. I want to chase the strikeout upside in a plus matchup. Montas will get some traction but I strongly prefer Rogers.

Other GPP Targets: F. Montas, M. Minor

MLB Top Batters

Ben Rortvedt: Rortvedt is the cheap punt on today’s slate for me. I actually think he’s a young talented player and I will continue to be in on him at min price.

Gary Sanchez: If I am spending up at C today it is for the big man Sanchez. I have liked to attack Happ all season.

Jorge Alfaro: I think Miami is an interesting stack today. They will be a place I look to gain some leverage on the field.

Miguel Sano: Sano finally got a hold of one last night, sometimes seeing the ball leave the yard is all it takes. He has double-dong upside every day.

Josh Bell: Bell is surrounded by talent in the lineup and I think the Nationals will go lower owned than they should today.

DJ LeMahieu: DJ finally comes at a discount and it just so happens to be on a day I am on the breakdown and vs a lefty. The weekly occurance. I will be all in on DJ today. DJ is my homerun call today.

Jose Altuve: Altuve vs a lefty is always in play. I prefer DJ but since you can play him at 1B, there is a world that you can go DJ and Altuve.

Alex Bregman: Bregman has really caught fire and his price reflects it. Due to the high price tag, I expect that he will be lower owned.

Gio Urshela: Gio’s advanced metrics have been great all season. He’s hitting the ball hard and his barrel % suggests he’s gotten unlucky. He has premium bats around him that will allow him to see a ton of good pitches.

Josh Donaldson: Donaldson had a rough night vs Cole last night. I expect he will bounce back today in a great hitting environment with good weather today.

Jorge Polanco: Polanco double donged last night and he will be popular today. I am still looking to invest in him around this 4k price tag. I like this game stack today.

Gleyber Torres: If I don’t go Polanco, I can see myself playing Gleyber today. the Yankees 5 man stack will be popular but for good reason vs a bad lefty in Happ.

Giancarlo Stanton: Two homeruns last night, extremely streaky player and gets a lefty tonight. I think he will be the most popular player on the entire slate.

Aaron Judge: Judge won’t be as popular as Stanton but I love him for all of the same reasons. The Yankees OF stack will be fired up tonight.

Kyle Schwarber: Schwarber is always overlooked when people talk about the Nationals. He is always set up in RBI opportunities due to Soto and Turner being on base in front of him.

Juan Soto: Soto is heating up! It’s about time, we have been waiting for it. I wanted to be early on Soto but now feels like the perfect time to attack.

Trevor Larnach: Larnach has some unreal power and its very rare we get someone with as much homerun upside as him for these cheap price tags. If Larnach pulls an elite lineup spot, he will be popular.

“Team Batting Score” – A metric that quickly highlights overall team batting based on Runs Created (RC+) by team and comparing it to the average and standard deviation of all other MLB Teams
“Opp. Pitcher SP Score” – A weighted metric that evaluates today’s starting pitchers based on xFIP and Games Started (currently using partial end of 2020 data blended with the 2021 season)
“Opp. BP Score” – Similar to SP Score but weights the xFIP for the team’s bullpen

DK MLB Stacks

“T2” (and T3/T4/T5) represents the Top 2 projected hitters for the team on the left (not necessarily the top 2 hitters in the batting order)

Stacking is an extremely important element to MLB DFS. In MLB, all of your players are correlated to each other. Outside of solo homeruns, they need each other to succeed. If you look at the top of all of the big GPPs every night you will see stacks dominating the leaderboard.

When using our stacks chart, we want to identify teams that are projecting well but the ownership does not reflect their chance of success.
