Slate Thoughts:

  • This pitching slate is almost as horrid as yesterday’s, if not worse. There’s only a few pitchers I’m interested in, and the only one I’m 100% on is Josh Lindblom. He has one of the easier matchups vs the Pirates, and has the longer leash compared to other pitchers around his price point. He has stated that he can throw around 90 pitches, which is encouraging. At this price we really can’t get too greedy and ask for a lot, I expect him to go around 5 innings, get 5-6 Ks and give up 1-2 runs. He’s the only guy I’m sold on currently. Other pitchers I am looking into are Zach Davies and Walker Buehler. Obviously Buehler is one of the best pitchers in the league but he gets a tough matchup vs the Astros along with his restrictions to start the year. We are unsure of how long he can pitch, but we know that he touched 4 innings in his last intrasquad scrim. I would say he’s going to sit in that range again today, so the strikeouts have to be there vs the Astros for him to hit value. I’m currently on edge and leaning towards having him in GPP only. In terms of Zach Davies, I’m not sure how many innings to expect from him but he gets an easier matchup vs the Giants. Davies isn’t really a strikeout guy so we’re going to need a good 5-6 innings here.
  • In terms of bats, I really like the Mets, Red Sox, Royals and Tigers. I think I’ll be having pieces from each of these games as we have 4 inexperienced pitchers all on the mound here for each team. Mets should feast vs Hall who has struggled across all levels. On the other side, the Red Sox have really let some people down as of late but I think today is the day they finally get some things going with the Mets rolling out their southpaw Peterson. I love Alonso, Rosario, JD Davis and Cespedes for my Mets stack, and for Red Sox, Peraza, J.D, and Bogaerts.
  • I think this Royals/Tigers game will be very high scoring, and I want to have as much exposure as possible. Mondesi has literally cost me thousands yet I go back to him time after time. Royals scored double digit runs and he goes 0-5 yesterday. I have to go back to him and Merrifield/Perez/Soler for my Royals stack. On the other side we have Goodrum/Schoop/Cron. That wraps up the Game Theory for today! Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to DM me @srirachadfs.
