Bales’ Bananas – Monkey Knife Fight NBA Prop Picks 3/12/19

Over Under 2/2 – Cleveland Cavaliers/Philadelphia 76ers

JJ Redick has struggled without Joel Embiid in the lineup, but he has also struggled in his last few games with Embiid starting. Redick is averaging only 12.5 points on 11.5 shot attempts, 7.5 three-point attempts, and 3.2 free throw attempts per game over his last 11 games. He has scored fewer than 19 points in 10 of those games, as well. He has simply taken a backseat in the offense behind Embiid, Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, and Tobias Harris. Redick should continue to struggle with the new offense, and there’s always the potential for a blowout in this matchup. Cedi Osman hasn’t been a dominant three-point shooter recently, but he is a volume scorer. Over his last 15 games, he’s averaging 2.6 three-pointers made on 5.7 three-point attempts over his last 15 games. His three-point percentage drops to 30.8% over the last 10 days, though. Still, Osman has made two or more three-pointers in 12 of those 15 games. While I don’t love his recent percentages, Osman will continue to get the volume in this offense.

Play $50 on JJ Redick UNDER 18.5 points and Cedi Osman OVER 1.5 three-pointers made to win $116 (2.32x)

Over Under 2/2 – Los Angeles Lakers/Chicago Bulls

The Los Angeles Lakers recently stated that LeBron James will see his minutes get cut, and I feel this prop is overreacting on that. He played only 27 minutes in his last game, but still scored 30 points. Overall, James is averaging 28.7 points on 21.0 shot attempts, 6.8 three-point attempts, and 8.9 free throw attempts per game over his last 10 games. He has scored 25+ points in nine of those games, as well. While he’s averaging 38.0 minutes per game over that span, I don’t believe the drop in minutes will have as major of an impact as this prop would suggest. The Chicago Bulls don’t feature anyone who can slow James down defensively, and he should continue to take 20+ shot attempts on a nightly basis, even in limited minutes. Kris Dunn hasn’t been facilitating the ball well recently, but that shouldn’t matter tonight. Zach LaVine is unlikely to play in this game, which means Dunn will be playing with the ball in his hands more. He’ll also likely be locked into 30+ minutes tonight after finding inconsistent minutes recently. It was only a little bit ago that Dunn averaged 6.7 assists in 33.5 minutes per game over a nine game stretch. He also recorded 6+ assists in seven of those nine games. We should see Dunn get back to that tonight with LaVine injured.

Play $50 on LeBron James OVER 24.5 points and Kris Dunn OVER 5.5 assists to win $128.50 (2.57x)

Over Under 2/2 – Minnesota Wolves/Denver Nuggets

Karl-Anthony Towns is currently dealing with an injury, so this play not go through by the end of the night, but his prop is too good to ignore. I don’t expect him to play unless he’s fully healthy, meaning we’re getting him at a big of a discount. He has been scoring at an elite level for quite some time, as he’s averaging 31.6 points on 19.0 shot attempts, 5.2 three-point attempts, and 7.2 free throw attempts over his last 13 games. He has also scored 25+ points in 11 of those 13 games. Furthermore, Towns is averaging 26.5 points per game against the Denver Nuggets this season. Nikola Jokic has found plenty of success against the Minnesota Wolves this season, as he’s averaging 10.0 assists per game against them. He has cooled off recently, though, averaging only 6.6 assists per game over his last eight games. He has also recorded nine or fewer assists in seven of those eight games. As if that isn’t enough, Minnesota ranks third in the NBA in assists allowed (3.1) per game to opposing centers.

Play $50 on Karl-Anthony Towns OVER 24.5 points and Nikola Jokic UNDER 8.5 assists to win $120.50 (2.41x)
