Power Play

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been playing well recently. He’s averaging 22.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 steals (40.2 fantasy points) in 36.1 minutes per game over the last 10 days. Gilgeous-Alexander has cooled off a bit in his last 2 games, but he scored 38+ fantasy points in 7 of his 8 games prior to those. He’s locked into big minutes, and gets a plus matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. They rank 10th in the NBA in pace and 14th in defensive rating. Gilgeous-Alexander should continue to see plenty of scoring opportunities, and he comes with tremendous upside in this matchup. This total represents his recent two game stretch rather than his potential against Brooklyn.

Jonas Valanciunas is coming off of a massive game against the Phoenix Suns. He scored 52.6 fantasy points in only 26 minutes. Prior to that, Valanciunas failed to score more than 35 fantasy points in 5 consecutive games. He gets a plus matchup against the Minnesota Wolves, who love to push the pace and have struggled against bigs. With that being said, Valanciunas continues to see limited minutes on a near nightly basis. While he has found plenty of per minute success in 2019, there’s very little reason to believe he’s going to see big minutes in this game. Valanciunas comes with quite a bit of risk, and this total seems more indicative of his last outlier game rather than any other recent performances.

Play 1 unit on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OVER 34.0 fantasy points and Jonas Valanciunas UNDER 35.8 fantasy points to win 2.5 units (2.5x)
