This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night. BALL IN!
Point Guard
Top GPP Play: Rajon Rondo – Rondo’s price tonight is more than fair at 5.7k and is in a fantastic matchup with the Cavs who have really struggled defensively this season. Rondo has a massive ceiling and the questionable price should drive down some ownership. He makes for a great GPP play.
FADE: Ricky Rubio – Rubio’s price has skyrocketed of late to 7.7k on Fanduel, a price he can not realistically pay off and doesn’t provide any upside. In an extremely slow pace matchup with the Grizzlies, I’m not touching Rubio tonight.
Shooting Guard
Top GPP Play: JJ Reddick – With Embiid out for a few weeks we’re going to see a lot of usage go up on these Sixer’s starters. JJ Reddick is fairly priced tonight in a matchup with the Hawks who are the laughing stock of the NBA currently. Reddick has the ability to get hot and pour in points. Don’t be surprised to see a huge game out of him tonight.
FADE: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – KCP is priced way to high for someone with a pretty low usage rate that will need to make 60-70%+ of his shots to hit value. Not worth it and should see some ownership which helps all of us who fade him.
Small Forward
Top GPP Play: Robert Covington – Like I said with JJ Reddick, I’m going to want to get over-exposed to all the 76’ers until their prices adjust on Fanduel. Covington is another guy who should see a nice usage bump and has a lot of upside in this matchup.
Fade: Trevor Ariza – His huge game the other day was a fluke due to some lucky blocks/steals. Don’t point chase with Ariza tonight, he should go back to his low usage role.
Power Forward
Top GPP Play: Ersan Ilyasova – REVENGEEEEEE. And he’s a 76er big man who will see more minutes/usage. He’s a lock for me tonight.
Fade: Julius Randle – Randle’s priced up a bit too high to have any true upside. I’m not paying up for Randle tonight when Simmons is right there.
Center
Top GPP Play: Dewayne Dedmon – Philly is going to get destroyed on the interior without Joel Embiid roaming the paint and Dewayne Dedmon has been an extremely efficient FP/M player. Dedmon’s has tons of upside at this price point on Fanduel.
Fade: Karl Anthony-Towns – Don’t go point chasing with KAT tonight. His price is way too high to justify paying for after one big game. He’s got a pace down matchup tonight and while he should perform well he doesn’t offer a ton of upsidr
