Thoughts:

Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • When analyzing the projected values on this slate and looking at the different options available filtered by position, it becomes clear where you should be capitalizing to gain leverage in GPPS today.
  • This is a similar situation to yesterday except worse in the sense that it’s half the size of the slate from yesterday.
  • Yesterday, we got over-exposed to guard value and it paid off nicely.  Today, it’s the opposite with forward providing a ton of depth on this slate with the guard options fairly limited.  Don’t make the mistake of getting contrarian at the guard position with -EV play but instead use the forward’s available on the slate to differentiate yourself to +EV plays that will be lower owned due to the amount of options at the position.
  • At the guard position today, there are only two guards that really “pop”.  They are D’Angelo Russell and Donovan Mitchell.  Outside of these two, I suggest using guard as a salary relief option as to fit in some of the more expensive forwards on the slate.
  • Monte Morris and PJ Dozier are top 10 values at the guard position on this slate and both project in a good way considering their prices on Draftkings.  Both should be considered in any form of lineup tonight.
  • At the forward position, there are a ton of different ways you can go about your builds tonight.  I’m seeing about 7 players that “pop”.  They are (in no order):
    • Giannis
    • Kawhi Leonard
    • Michael Porter JR. – essential value
    • Brandon Ingram
    • DeAndre Ayton – can use at center
    • Julius Randle – could aslo use at center
    • Bojan Bogdanovic
  • That is the list of ELITE options at the forward position.  There are also a ton of other good plays to consider.
  • My roster construction would look something like Ayton/Randle at the center position, locking in MPJ, and choosing one of Giannis/Leonard for the SF, PF, or F spot and moving on to whether I’m paying for Mitchell/Russell and if I am going to play any of the Nuggets guard value.
  • That should give y’all a good start to building a great +EV GPP lineup tonight.
  • Obviously it is important to stay up to date on what value opens up closer to lock and weigh extreme value decisions (due to rest/injury).
