Thoughts:

Updates to come to this section as we approach lock so continue to check back for more insight.

  • We have a short-four game slate to close out the 2019 year.  It’s pretty clear the route I am going to be taking with so many high priced options that grade out well but not a ton of value in the mid-tier or for cheap.
  • A 10.5k James Harden in essentially the best game environment of the slate is hard to pass up and comes as essentially a lock.  When looking at the next guard position you have a decision to make when it comes to Fred Vanvleet or Kyle Lowry.  Both are priced extremely similarly and project extremely similarly atop the slate.  This will be one of the crucial decisions you have to make today.  I’m going to suggest leaning Kyle Lowry as his 90th percentile outcomes are clearly above FVV and where the two separate.
  • When it comes to the value tier…. we have Marquese Chriss as the only player under 5k projecting well and he will end up being in plenty of my lineups.  He’ll be one of the chalkiest players of the slate but it’s tough to get off of him.
  • A key thing to remember is when game stacking your goal is to capture overtime minutes. This is especially crucial on short slates where a game stack of the OT game almost eliminates the other three games on the slate if we see a ton of players outperform.   In order for a game to overtime, it would mean that the underdog OVERPERFORMS.  Meaning you want more salary allocation, in most cases, from the team that is NOT favored rather than the team that is favored.
    • A good example of this tonight is the Warriors vs the Spurs
      • This game is going to be one of my preferred stacks of the slate as we get so much value from the Warriors with a low-owned Spurs side stack to pair up with it.
      • Don’t be afraid to play a multitude of pieces from the Warriors as they are your best chance to plug in the elite plays you’ll need to succeed on this slate.
  • Obviously it is important to stay up to date on what value opens up closer to lock and weigh extreme value decisions (due to rest/injury).
