Bobby’s NBA GPP Breakdown (2/26/19)

Unfortunately, we only have 3 games tonight. My article got deleted yesterday but we’re back at it today (I’m salty because a lot of my plays were key to a big win yesterday – Batum, DLO, Olynyk, Wade, Beverly, Robin Lopez). I’ll have my top play from each position today while also listing the projected chalk which likely will be part of a core in a few of my lineups. My core had been on fire of late prior to the break so make sure to check that out tonight by purchasing the NBA Core Plays package at dfskarma.com/shop and asking any questions you have in Discord tonight to fill out the rest of your lineup. Make sure as usual to leverage some of my TOP GPP options with a core of chalkier plays. Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays. This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned, and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.  I emphasize upside/leverage over ownership, particularly in NBA DFS.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Jamal Murray: Murray’s ceiling is higher than he has produced at over the past couple weeks and I’m awaiting a big game from him soon.  Murray can essentially score at will and just needs that high usage game in which he takes over to take him to the next level.  Murray against one of his rivals Westbrook might be just what he needs for that big scoring game.  This is a major pace up spot for the Nuggets and in addition to their defensive rating against guards falling in the bottom third of the league, Murray has as good of a chance as any to post a big game tonight. Also notable is that this is the lowest Murray’s price has been on Draftkings since October.
  2. Chalk: Russell Westbrook

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Allonzo Trier: The Knicks always seem to play on short slates which is good considering I never have a large exposure of my bankroll on these types of slates.  It also is to our advantage where we’re essentially playing a guessing game when rostering the Knicks backcourt.  Outside of potentially Dotson, the SG position is weak today and Trier is a guy I’m comfortable taking a shot on.  The undrafted rookie has posted some huge fantasy games when he gets the proper usage and with projections have him slated for 22%+ in addition to over 25 minutes tonight, he seems like a fantastic GPP candidate where the field is locking in Dotson.  Both players are a fantastic play and playing them both could be a contrarian lineup build tonight.
  2. Chalk: Damyean Dotson

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Gordon Hayward: Gordon Hayward takes over the cover photo for me today and I love this spot for him.  Not only is he projected to be under 20% owned, I believe his minute’s projection is really low balling what he’ll get on the floor tonight.  He has a knack for showing up in big games and this matchup against one of the top teams in the East is as big as they get for the 5th seeded Celtics looking to make a climb the rest of the season.  Hayward looked like he was starting to catch a rhythm posting three straight games of 30+ DK points before having a poor five-point showing against the Bulls.  I’m expecting a big bounce back here and this price is ridiculous.  Give me Hayward over Marcus Smart chalk all day.
  2. Chalk: Paul George

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Kevin Knox: The Knicks are always going to be key to hitting big on these slates and Kevin Knox is likely the player with the highest ceiling on the whole roster.  Millsap and Gordon will be hard to avoid here but if you’re looking to get more off the board Knox projects for over 5x with a ceiling over 40 DK points.  The Magic over the course of this season rank 21st in the NBA in defensive rating against forwards and Knox is one of the few Knicks who can expect to see consistent 30+ minutes in games that don’t end in blowouts.  The Knicks will be looking to keep it going after their first home win in 18 games the other night and I expect Knox to be very involved in this game plan.
  2. Chalk: Paul Millsap

Center

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Mitchell Robinson:  If you’re noticing the GPP trend here, it’s hitting the right Knicks players.  Robinson has shown an incredible season and seems to be improving nightly for the Knicks.  Center is always a position we try to differentiate in GPPs unless there is blatant chalk which there really isn’t tonight considering you have to pay 10k for the chalkiest center.  Robinson has posted two games over 45 DK points in his last four games and seems like a lock to hit value if he plays regular minutes.  With the Magic fairly large up front I expect to see a lot of Robinson tonight.
  2. Chalk: Nikola Jokic
