Bobby’s NBA GPP Breakdown (3/10/19)

I will be completely back to normal tomorrow with my article format but need to stick with how I’ve been doing it for tonight’s 6pm slate given that I am about to hop in the car for a 4.5 hour drive once I complete my article. I’ll have one play per position with the potential “chalk” play for the position. My core continues to be on fire so make sure to check that out tonight by purchasing the NBA Core Plays package at dfskarma.com/shop and asking any questions you have in Discord tonight to fill out the rest of your lineup. Make sure as usual to leverage some of my TOP GPP options with a core of chalkier plays. Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays. This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned, and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.  I emphasize upside/leverage over ownership, particularly in NBA DFS.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Luka Doncic:  People will end up paying down at PG position with guys like Brunson, Payton, and Frank Jackson in really good spots considering the number of minutes they’ll be getting in addition to their prices.  Doncic is in just an elite spot, relative to price, given the fact, his usage rate is projected to top 30% in this game with his FP/min being over 1.45 the past couple weeks.  At 8.8k, Doncic has a high chance of posting a game over 50 DK points in a high-pace matchup with the Rockets.
  2. Chalk Play: Jalen Brunson

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. James Harden: It seems pretty ridiculous to get James Harden under 25% on a 6 game slate without a ton of other elite options at the position.  With so much value opening up you’re going to see much fewer lineups with guys like Harden, Doncic, and Curry at the PG/SG/G/UTIL positions as a lot of people will be plugging in Brunson, Jackson, and Payton.  Paying up for 2 of Doncic, Curry, Harden is starting to look like a really contrarian approach to this slate that I am high on.  You know what you’re getting with Harden.
  2. Chalk Play: Frank Jackson

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Kenrich Williams:  I have not forgotten the stretch of games where Williams absolutely crushed night in and night out.  With Jahill Okafor looking like he’s moving out of the rotation I wouldn’t be surprised to see William’s usage/minutes continue to bump up, especially with Anthony Davis questionable tonight.  Williams is priced fairly at 4.9k and has easy 7x upside on this slate.  He’s a spot you can pay down at for SF/PF/F that opens up salary to go with the contrarian build that I am taking today.
  2. Chalk Play: Taurean Prince

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Josh Jackson: Jackson is an end of season beast and I believe we’re going to start seeing more minutes for the young forward as the season comes to a close.  Jackson is priced fairly at 4.1k as we really can’t expect more than 27 minutes tonight.  With that being said, Jackson has shown in the past he is capable of putting up big fantasy numbers given his fairly high usage rate and explosive play-style.  This pace up game with the Warriors could provide a ton of opportunity early on in the game and we should expect Jackson to play out the fourth quarter in the situation of a blowout.  All good signs at a position I’m trying to pay down for.
  2. Chalk Play:  Draymond Green

Center

Top GPP Plays:

  1. DeMarcus Cousins:  Cousins has looked slow and immobile on defense this year after his injury but he’s matched up against DeAndre Ayton who essentially is equally as not versatile.  Cousins should struggle less on the defensive end tonight and be able to stretch Ayton out a bit even with his poor shooting %’s this year.  Obviously, there is a huge spread on this game but if it can stay close it will be one of the juiciest fantasy games on the slate and I’m willing to take that shot at it.  The prices seem really good on the players here.
  2. Chalk Play: Julius Randle/Clint Capela
