Bobby’s NBA GPP Breakdown (3/4/19)

I’m going to be out of the country from today to Saturday afternoon so I will have limited communication and not be able to actually play DFS but I am still spending time to research for all of you loyal Karma members who come to my article daily to fill out your GPP cores. My core continues to be on fire so make sure to check that out tonight by purchasing the NBA Core Plays package at dfskarma.com/shop and asking any questions you have in Discord tonight to fill out the rest of your lineup. Make sure as usual to leverage some of my TOP GPP options with a core of chalkier plays. Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays. This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned, and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.  I emphasize upside/leverage over ownership, particularly in NBA DFS.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Derrick White:  Back to the well with White who had a huge showing for Karma readers the other night where he went off for 36.6 DK points.  Tonight he is priced at just 4.9k and the Spurs have a huge total in a game implied for 228 points. White will be another elite GPP play today even with the Spurs back to more healthy.
  2. De’Aaron Fox:  Fox has been having a breakout season for the Kings and you definitely want some exposure to this team.  Fox at 7.5k has a ton of upside considering this game has an over/under of 231.5 and the Kings are heavy favorites.  Against guards in 2019, the Knicks rank 29th/30 in defensive rating.

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Caris LeVert: Things have not really come together with the Nets over the past few games as the Nets are on a three-game losing streak where LeVert has been shooting pretty bad.  The plus side of this situation is his price has come down a few hundred and now we can leverage the recency bias of the Nets and LeVert to gain some edge in our GPP lineups.  Vegas has the Nets slated for 114.5 points tonight surprisingly five-point favorites over the Mavericks.
  2. Gary Harris: Harris is going to be under 5% owned on today’s slate while projected to get over 25 minutes of action for the Nuggets.  He’s kind of fallen off most of this year in terms of playing time due to injury but this is still a big time player.  Given minutes at just 4k on Draftkings he has the potential to post a huge game any day.

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Kenrich Williams:  This Pelican’s frontcourt situation seems like one that could be key to the slate.  Barring I’m writing this article in the airport at 745 AM, there is a ton of new information that could come out regarding the status of Anthony Davis throughout the day.  However, even if Davis does play, Williams price has decreased drastically and we’ve seen the type of upside he has at times this season.  Playing significant minutes for the Pelicans in the starting lineup in a game that could be very high scoring (even against the Jazz), Williams could post a huge score tonight.
  2. Bogdan Bogdanovic: I want a lot of Kings pieces tonight in a huge total game against a defense that is putrid.  Bogdan is going to be pretty popular tonight but is one of the most elite plays on the slate in my opinion.  A 30+ DK point game from him is almost expected here at just 5.6k he’s hard to pass up.

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Anthony Davis: He recently went over 40 DK points in only about 21 minutes.  This dude is going to continue dominating and he’s priced to the point where it is likely adjusted for the minutes he’s projected to see.
  2. Dragon Bender (punt): This was a tough decision to make between Bender and Holmes here for a low owned PF punt but I’m going to give the edge to the cheaper player who in my opinion has a higher ceiling (FP/min), and is projected to get the starting nod.  Bender has posted huge games in the past and at literally minimum price on Draftkings, which we don’t see too often, I like his chances of posting a 20+ DK point game against a larger Bucks team where he’ll need to see minutes.

Center

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Montrezl Harrel:  I thought about including Jarrett Allen here but had to take him off as I believed my Nets bias was getting to in the way.  Full disclosure I’m out of the country so can’t play DFS tonight but Allen would be in my lineup if I were.  Harrell, however, has a fantastic ceiling tonight that seems like the safer/smarter pick.  He is priced at 6.3k against a Lakers team that rolls out a smaller lineup Harrell should dominate.  While projections have Harrell for around 27-29 minutes tonight I see no reason why he shouldn’t end up with 32-34.  Fantastic leverage play. (Also play Alex Len and some Dwight Powell – major chalk).
