Bobby’s NBA SUNDAY GPP Breakdown (3/17/19)

Sunday is here and we have our usual short 6 pm slate on Draftkings tonight. I’m going to keep it more top plays without considering ownership factors too much since we don’t have a ton of content coming out today.

My core continues to be on fire so make sure to check that out tonight by purchasing the NBA Core Plays package at dfskarma.com/shop and asking any questions you have in Discord tonight to fill out the rest of your lineup. Make sure as usual to leverage some of my TOP GPP options with a core of chalkier plays. Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays. This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned, and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.  I emphasize upside/leverage over ownership, particularly in NBA DFS.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. D’Angelo Russell: The clear top play on this slate is my favorite Nets player, D’Angelo Russell.  Russell’s price has free fallen and he now sits at just 7.1k.  Coming off two tough losses where Russell didn’t see close to his full allotment of minutes + the fact that he had some bad shooting nights, we can use this to capitalize on this and get exposure to Russell for much cheaper than he should be.   While I am slightly concerned about Patrick Beverly defense it isn’t really something I factor in too much when considering DFS plays.  Russell is the top GPP play on this slate and likely the top play in all formats.
  2. Other Options Include: Kris Dunn, De’Aaron Fox, Chris Paul, and Caris LeVert

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Patrick Beverly: On the other side of this Nets/Clippers game, a 231 total, I really like getting exposure to Patrick Beverly who has been on fire of late averaging .94 FP/min while playing anywhere up to 38 minutes in a game.  I expect a similair heavy minutes load against the Nets team filled with guards that Beverly will want to be on the court to defend. He isn’t going to hurt your lineups tonight and does have a solid ceiling given the high total and pace of this matchup.
  2. Other Options Include: Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, and Spencer Dinwiddie

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Danilo Gallinari: If you’re not getting the theme here it is that this Nets/Clippers game has a ton of GPP value and a spot I am going to be very overexposed to in GPPs.  Gallinari is the type of big forward that the Nets struggle to defend and he has been on a tear of late as the Clippers look to push up the playoff standings in the West. He’s been averaging 1.21 FP/min and has really taken control since the trade of Tobias Harris earlier in the season.  He has scored 20 or more real points in five straight games and I expect him to extend the streak to six tonight.
  2. Other options at small forward include: Evan Fournier, DeMarre Carroll, and Kevin Huerter

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Marvin Bagley: Bagley will be a very low owned play tonight with an 8x ceiling I’m going to want exposure to.  While obviously, I will fit guys like John Collins into my lineup (who are very popular), I did want to mention Bagley as likely the lowest owned player included in this article.  Bagley is averaging 1.26 FP/min in the past few weeks and while he hasn’t seen big minutes since his injury he’s coming off two days of rest and the Kings will need him to play well and big minutes in order to continue their push for the eight seed.  He’ll be 2% owned.
  2. Other options at the position include: John Collins, Otto Porter, and Montrezl Harrell

Center

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Jarrett Allen: After a 5-6 game stretch of down games for Allen, he is back to posting huge games for a player priced consistently below 5.5k.  His 45 DK point ceiling is elite on a slate where in his price range, other DFS players will be taking major risks plugging in Zubac and Cauley-Stein who have been much less consistent with their ceilings.  I do love Zubac but he just isn’t getting the minutes I would love to see.  However, if he does play well early against the Nets I could see the Clippers leading him out there for an extended stretch given how the Nets struggle with big men.  I’m buying into Allen however as another piece of this game.  I suggest being overexposed to the Nets side of things.
  2. Other options at the position include:  Ivica Zubac, Nikola Vucevic, Karl-Anthony Towns
