Joey’s WNBA Core Cash Plays Friday 08/14/20

What’s up Karma Nation! We have another edition of my WNBA Core Cash Plays. We have had a great week this week and let’s finish it strong tonight we a fun 3 gamer. We have another slate without Dianna Taurasi so we have another slate of PHO value!

Vegas Lines

Guards

Top Tier

Skylar Diggins-Smith: Diggins wasn’t able to get the production she got the game without DT, but today should be different. They will be going up against an ATL team that is giving up the most points to opposing guards. ATL gives up the most turnovers per game, while SDS is not a big steals girl, she has recorded at least one steal in 5 straight games. Defensive stats can put someone over their ceiling because they are worth so much. This extra little boost as well as her 4% usage rate bump and her minutes bump should make her a top 2 guard on the slate.

GPP Pivot: DeWanna Bonner (She is always in play)

Middle Tier

Jasmine Thomas: Thomas is starting to look like her old self recently. All but one game this season has Thomas not played 30+ minutes. There is no obvious play currently for a mid tier guard but I love the play. Thomas has a 23% usage rate over the past 4 games, where they have finally turned their season around after winning 3 out of the last 4 games. Chicago is also bad defensively and it appears the Bonner/Thomas duo is spreading the ball around more and not combining for 100 fantasy points a game anymore so the rest of the Sun team have a chance to score.

          GPP Pivot: Bria Hartley

Cheap Tier

Blake Dietrick: She went completely over looked last slate with Carter out and people won’t make the same mistake twice. Dietrick played every minute of the game against the Storm. While she shouldn’t see that much run again, blowout gave her more time, Blake should see another start and 30+ minutes. At only 6.2k the minutes are enough for her to be value regardless of anything else. As long as you see her start again, I would lock her in for cheap value.

GPP Pivot: Value PHO starting guards.

Forwards

Top Tier

Breanna Stewart: Stewart is solidifying herself to win another MVP as she leads the Storm to the best record in the WNBA. There is definitely some risk with this play because this game has blowout potential written all over it. Stewart has been the top forward all season and I will fade her in GPPs but in cash she is still a great play.

          GPP Pivot: Brittney Griner

Middle Tier

Stephanie Dolson: This is only if you see her starting. She came off the bench and only played 15 minutes. She was able to come in and still grab 9 rebounds. If the minutes and starting spot are there only at $7600 she is worth the risk. It is too early to tell now so we will have to check back closer to lock. If we can get her back to 25 minutes I will start to go back to her in cash. This is a wait and see for now.

          GPP Pivot: Liz Williams

Cheap Tier

Nia Coffey: I’m just going to continue riding her in cash if I need the salary relief. She has seen B2B 20 minute games and without the usage rate that DT sucks in there is plenty to go around. She isn’t a safe cash play but if you are desperate than she is worth the risk.

           GPP Pivot: Kalani Brown
