NBA DFS – Bales’ Top GPP Play (2/16/21)

Welcome to another edition of Bales’ Top GPP play. In this article, I will outline my favorite NBA GPP play for today’s games. If you want all of my core plays along with our staff’s Final Thoughts articles and access to our Discord, click here

Talen Horton-Tucker

Horton-Tucker’s seen limited minutes throughout the season thus far. He’s averaging 7.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists (15.3 fantasy points) in only 16.6 minutes per game through 24 contests. Overall, Horton-Tucker’s averaging 14.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.1 blocks on a per-36 minute basis. He’s played 20+ minutes in 5 of his last 8 games, averaging 21.8 fantasy points per game in those contests.

Horton-Tucker gets a great matchup against the Minnesota Wolves tonight. They currently rank fifth in the NBA in pace and 21st in defensive efficiency this season. Horton-Tucker posted 26 fantasy points in only 20.5 minutes in his only matchup against Minnesota this season. His usage rating generally sits around 20%, although it can increase over 25% at times. He’s a player that can contribute in each of the five categories, though, and his versatility is where he gains his upside. With Anthony Davis injured, Horton-Tucker’s expected to continue to play 20-25 minutes. His lack of minutes adds to his risk, but he’s a player that can easily exceed 30+ fantasy points on any given night, especially in a plus matchup. He’s a risky salary relief option that tends to go overlooked, and tonight should be no different.
