NBA DFS – Bales’ Top GPP Play (4/1/21)

Welcome to another edition of Bales’ Top GPP play. In this article, I will outline my favorite NBA GPP play for today’s games. If you want all of my core plays along with our staff’s Final Thoughts article and access to our Discord, click here

Danilo Gallinari

Gallinari has seen mixed results in his first season with the Atlanta Hawks. He’s averaging 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists (21.7 fantasy points) in 23.2 minutes per game through 35 contests. Gallinari’s been cold recently, as well, averaging 18 fantasy points in 23.2 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He boasts tremendous upside, though, as it wasn’t long ago that he posted 43 fantasy points against the Houston Rockets.

Gallinari gets an intriguing matchup against the San Antonio Spurs tonight. They rank 15th in the NBA in pace and 12th in defensive rating this season. San Antonio’s seen mixed results against forwards, although they’ve found significantly more success against power forwards. Gallinari’s usage rating generally sits in the low or mid-20s, and that’s likely to be the case once again tonight. He hasn’t been playing big minutes recently, but he’s expected to find 30+ minutes with John Collins out tonight. Gallinari could see an even larger role if De’Andre Hunter is ruled out, as well. The former is a scoring-dependent option for Atlanta, who will go overlooked because of recent struggles. He boasts an elite ceiling for his price, although he also comes with quite a bit of risk.
