NBA DFS – Bales’ Top GPP Play (4/6/21)

Welcome to another edition of Bales’ Top GPP play. In this article, I will outline my favorite NBA GPP play for today’s games. If you want all of my core plays along with our staff’s Final Thoughts article and access to our Discord, click here

Ivica Zubac

Zubac’s performed well when given the opportunities for the Los Angeles Clippers this season. He’s averaging 8.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists (21.9 fantasy points) in only 21.4 minutes per game through 51 contests. Zubac’s struggled a bit recently, averaging only 23.4 fantasy points in 28.2 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He’s scored 30+ fantasy points in 5 of his last 10 games, though, and boasts 40+ fantasy point upside.

Zubac gets an interesting matchup against the Portland Blazers tonight. They rank 19th in the NBA in pace and 29th in defensive rating this season. Portland’s played well this season, although Jusuf Nurkic and Enes Kanter should keep Zubac near the basket, where he’s at his best. Zubac isn’t a high usage player, as it generally sits in the teens, although it can fluctuate at times. He’s also expected to play minutes in the high-20s tonight with the potential to see minutes north of 30. Zubac isn’t a safe option, especially with his recent struggles, but he’s an outstanding per-minute player and should find success in this matchup. He’s far too cheap for his ceiling, making him an outstanding tournament option at a deep position.
