NBA Injury News

Atlanta Hawks

Danilo Gallinari, Clint Capela  – Probable

Capela will continue to play limited minutes in the low 20’s. Gallinari has been upgraded to probable and really makes the wing rotation super deep.

Brooklyn Nets

 Spencer Dinwiddie – OUT

This will be the first true game without Dinwiddie in the normal rotation for the Nets. I think the Dinwiddie injury makes them even more cautious pushing their stars in the regular season, especially early on.

Milwaukee Bucks (Back End of B2B)

Nothing on the injury report but we should monitor the Bucks since they’re on a B2B. I think that everyone will play since they did not need to push starters in yesterdays contest.

Miami Heat (Back End of B2B)

Jimmy Butler – OUT

The Heat will be without Jimmy Butler again. They got embarrassed on national TV last night, we hope that they may be able to bounce back. This Bucks team may be too much for them to handle without Butler in the lineup. If the Heat do keep it close Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo would be players carrying them to a close fourth quarter.

Charlotte Hornets

Clean injury report. Love the small ball PJ Washington lineups they have been rolling out. This is the perfect matchup for them to use it a ton.

Dallas Mavericks

Josh Richardson – Q

Some pretty significant injury news here with Josh Richardson. If Richardson was unable to go Trey Burke would become a screaming DFS value.

Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James – Q

Alex Caruso – OUT

With Caruso out of the lineup look for pre-season star Taylen Horton Tucker and Wes Matthews to take on bigger roles. This secures Schroeder’s ball-handling minutes into the 30’s as well.

San Antonio Spurs

Lamarcus Aldridge – Q

Derrick White – OUT

If Aldridge was unable to go we would likely see Jakob Poetl move into the starting lineup. Demar Derozan and Dejounte Murray would soak up a majority of usage left behind by Aldridge. The Spurs are playing at one of the fastest paces in the NBA to start the season.

Portland Trail Blazers

Gary Trent Jr. – Q

Carmelo Anthony will return for the Blazers today, with Gary Trent Q it is likely to be a 1 for 1 rotation swap. Blazers may run Covington big minutes today to try and slow down PG or Kawhi.

LA Clippers (Back End of B2B)

Kawhi Leonard, Marcus Morris – Q

I expect Kawhi and Morris to return for the Clippers today. They held them out on the front end of the B2B knowing that they had a tougher matchup today.

Memphis Grizzlies

De’Anthony Melton, Ja Morant – OUT

The Grizzlies have unfortunately lost Ja Morant for 3-5 weeks due to an ankle injury. Look for Tyus Jones to take over for Morant on the first team. Kyle Anderson will take on the backup PG role. Look for Dillon Brooks to take as many shots as he possibly can with Morant out.

Boston Celtics (Back End of B2B)

Javonte Green, Tristan Thompson – OUT

Jason Tatum – Q

The Celtics have already ruled out Thompson and Green for today, this will allow Daniel Theis, Robert Williams, and rookie Payton Pritchard to take on larger roles. If Jason Tatum is ruled out, Jaylen Brown becomes a lock button play on this slate. The Celtics would be a great source for salary relief. Marcus Smart also would be in consideration if Tatum was ruled out.
