  • Hello everybody and welcome back to another DFS Karma Game Theory article! Today there aren’t many things to monitor regarding injuries and COVID-19 protocols, but be sure to keep your eyes peeled. For injury news, please make sure to check our injury article here! This is a small 5 game CHALKY slate so I’ll just keep it short and sweet and get straight to the point here.
  • The Miami Heat and Houston Rockets only have 9 players. These two teams should be the highlight of the slate and should see heavy ownership across both sites. You have to consider Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Gabe Vincent, Kelly Olynyk, and Precious Achiuwa on both sites, but I think the guys I will be playing for sure are Vincent, Herro, and Olynyk (DK). I like these guys to get heavy run out of necessity and of all people I think Herro should see the MOST usage. On the Houston side of things, they will be without 3 of their 5 starters, as House is out as well. They’ll be without Wall, Harden (TRADED), House, and Gordon. That’s a huge amount of usage that’ll open up, and you have to look at who they have on the roster. They have a two way guard Mason Jones who I love for GPPs. He’s a fantastic scorer and can light it up in bunches but he’ll have to fight for time with Sterling Brown, Ben McLemore and David Nwaba. I think he should get 20 minutes tonight but the Rockets like McLemore and Brown over Jones for sure. I think you have to lock Christian Wood in because even if it is a blowout, DeMarcus Cousins, who is a fantastic tournament play, shouldn’t get extended run due to his injury management.
  • I have to consider Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis as elite plays due to their matchup and their usage without Oladipo and Warren. I like the Holiday brothers as well, but Aaron Holiday’s price on FanDuel is way too much. I think that this is a solid spot to attack Portland on the second end of a back to back. Sabonis is easier to fit on DK but on FD you need to decide between him or paying down to Draymond/Kelly O.
  • My core for cash games will be Tyler Herro, Christian Wood, Ben McLemore
  • For tournaments, I like the core of Mason Jones, DeMarcus Cousins, Gabe Vincent
  • Notes:
    • Which Heat SF goes off? Duncan or Precious? Or both?
    • Will Curry see ownership?
    • Who will see the most usage for the Rockets today besides Wood?
    • Do we need to play Sabonis today?
  • Now, I will go over my full player pool for today, below.
