Updates to come to this section as we approach lock, so continue to check back for more insight.

Hello everybody and welcome back to another DFS Karma Game Theory article! Today there are a couple things to monitor regarding injuries and COVID-19 protocols, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled. For injury news, please make sure to check our injury article here! This is a massive slate with a ton of news, so instead of our usual breakdown, I’ll be going over how these injuries effect our lineup construction today.

  • Let’s dig into it, Check out my NBA First Impression Video to get more insight on the totals and injuries of the day.
  • Kemba Walker is OUT- This should mean that Jeff Teague, Jaylen Brown, and Jayson Tatum should be the main guys that soak up the usage that Kemba and Marcus Smart’s absences leave on the floor. Hopefully Teague starts, because that’s the only way I think I’ll play him tonight. Tatum and Brown should be the main beneficiaries here, and I also like Daniel Theis here. Make sure to check if Teague starts.
  • LaMarcus Aldridge is OUT- this means that DeMar Derozan, Keldon Johnson, Jakob Poeltl and Dejounte Murray get bumps. Rudy Gay is also out, which should give more run to the forwards and maybe Trey Lyles?? Great matchup here as well. Demar is very cheap for this pace and defenseless Wolves team.
  • Shai Gilgeous Alexander and George Hill are OUT- This means the Thunder only have 10 active, and guys like Maledon, Diallo, Dort and Horford should all pick up a lot of run and usage. This could definitely turn into a blowout but I honestly think it stays close. It’s always the weird games with a bunch of guys who are “hungry” that turn into competitive shootouts. However, it is important to note that Houston has turned into a great defensive team since the Harden trade.
  • Russell Westbrook is OUT- This means Bradley Beal and his 40% usage rate will be a great play vs Miami. I don’t like that they got Jimmy back because he can definitely give Beal a hard time. At the moment I personally am off Beal but he can drop 50 on any given night and he’s been lighting it up from all over the floor this season. Ish Smith if Raul Neto is out too. Keep an eye out for that.
  • John Wall is OUT- that opens up Victor Oladipo, Christian Wood, and Eric Gordon. Wall is out for rest purposes and these 3 see the highest usage boosts with him out. This is a great matchup and I don’t mind playing these 3 in one lineup, but on a slate like this I’ll likely limit myself to 2.
  • Steven Adams is Questionable- keep an eye out for this news. Again they need a bigger body vs Ayton and I think Hayes is still too inexperienced to stay out of foul trouble. Zion could get more run at the 5 and Josh Hart can thrive at the 4. We called this last slate and Hart was one of the top scoring SFs.
  • *Watch for Drummond news, if he’s out, Jarrett Allen becomes a must play
  • *Watch for Rozier news, if he’s out, LaMelo Ball should start
    • Notes:
    • How can we decide between Maledon, Smith and Teague?
    • To pay up or down at SG?
    • Miles Bridges, sneaky sneaky.
    • Cody Zeller, Thad Young, Jakob Poeltl, so many center values!
  • Guys who I will have exposure to today in no particular order, other than those in table above. (PLAYER POOL)

  • J. Teague
  • J. Brown
  • J. Randle
  • H. Diallo
  • J. Hart
  • La. Ball
  • Lo. Ball
  • D. Graham
  • M. Bridges
  • E. Gordon
  • J. Butler
  • C. Wood
  • C. Zeller
