WNBA DFS 6-28-19 – Zo’s Slate Breakdown

Wings vs Liberty

My Wings had an amazing win against the Sun in an all-out effort lead by the rookie Arike Ogunbowale. We might not get along with the Wings coach, but a win is a win and as a fan I’ll take it. Arkie has gotten a price bump but not anything that should scare us away from using her. She has the highest usage on the team, gets a Liberty team we have always attacked at guard and has taken 43 shots in the last TWO GAMES! Did I mention she is also locked into 30 minutes a game? The only worry I have for her is that this game is on the road and we have yet to see Arike have a good road game. On DraftKings we can make the argument to pivot over to A. Gray since she is only $200 more and is also in a plus match up with GPP winning upside.

Finally, we got the answer to our prays and A. Stevens started, but that’s just it she started and played so bad the coach only gave her 8 minutes. If she is starting again, I am willing to go back to her especially in GPP. We know she is a FPPM play but has had one of the roughest starts to a season. For cash games I. Harrison is the safe play of the two as she looks to be the best forward the Wings currently have and played a season high 30 minutes.

Graygot the start as we expected last game and is still not priced up for her new role. If Gray is starting again, she will find herself into my cash line on FanDuel (4.9K) for sure and possibly on DraftKings (5K). T. Charlesis a beast and needs no breakdown of what she can do. She gets a juicy matchup with the Wings and will be considered a cash play if you can afford her.

On the guards’ side of things Boyd and Nurse have been consistent in production and minutes but are both a bit more than I wants to spend up for today. A. Durr is an interesting play as she is playing 30 minutes a game and has the potential to explode for a big game against fellow rookie Ogunbowale. T. Wright makes for a good value play on Fanduel. Wright is seeing at least 15 minutes a game and alows you to fit in some of the higher priced studs.  I’ll only be looking at the guards for the Liberty as GPP plays only.

Fever vs Mercury

Another slate where B. Griner might be a chalky play. We have been down this road several times before and been burned by a disinterested foul prone player. Griner might be a chalky play tonight if two of her fellow players are not able to suite up tonight. It was reported that D. Bonner missed practice this week due to a tweaked ankle, and that D. Taurasi also missed practice due to personal reasons. If both were to miss tonight’s game Griner usage would be through the roof making her hard to avoid.

If Taurasi was to play tonight, she should be on a minute limit but on DraftKings I honestly wouldn’t care. Taurasi is priced at 3.2K which is a steal for a player that can give you 15-20 dkp in 15 minutes and allows you to fit whatever stud you want. If Taurasi is ruled in before lock, she will more than likely be one if not the highest owned play on DraftKings.

**Ignore everything you just read regarding DT she is not expected to play tonight.**

With DT out we should see L. Mitchell still in the starting lineup. She had a career night and is worth going back to again if she is expected to start. Mitchell had 31 dkp in 26 minutes last time against the Fever and that was off the bench. B. January is a great pivot from Mitchell and would also see extra usage if Bonner was to miss tonight as well.

**D. Bonner is expected to play tonight**

On the Fever you can play the guessing game once again at guard. Wheeler saw a reduction in minutes once again due to K. Mitchell having the hot hand. Wheeler is too expensive on both sites for a player that typically gets yanked early. K. Mitchell has had some success in this match up and I don’t mind her price. T. Mitchell will be the GPP play and is due for another one of her big games. In 19 minutes against the Mercury earlier this season she dropped 25-fantasy points.

McCowan saw close to 30minutes last game even with N. Achonwa being back, they even played some minutes together on the floor. Tonight, McCowan will have one of her biggest test in guarding B. Griner. She will be a GPP play along with Achonwa for me. Of course, we also must look at the wife vs wife narrative with Bonner and Dupree. Dupree has been very up and down this year and I really have no true interest for her tonight outside of maybe one GPP line.

Sky vs Storm

I won’t waste our time her with this game since these teams have played twice now. Sloot is the best player with legit triple double upside night in and night out. Following Sloot, D. DeShields is next up followed by Allie. Allie just had her big game, so recency bias I won’t have to much of her. Both Lavender and Dolson are in play with Lavender being my prefer choice due to price and consistency in this match up this year. For value on Fanduel G. Williams is a nice dart throw.

The Strom just got Canada back to lose Loyd to an ankle injury. Canada should slide back into the starting line up and is underpriced on both sites. I like her price on DraftKings better where she will be in most of my lines. Without Loyd, Canada will be leading the offense again at the point. Howard of course will be the lock of the slate in a match up she has dominated in both times this season. Without Loyd she will see a usage bump and even more shots.

I still expect S. Zellous is still priced down on both sites and should see decent run once again now with Loyd out. In cash games especially on FanDuel where you need value plays, she is good value play. M. Russell and A. Clark are also worth a look along with K. Mosqueda-lewis. Lewis earlier this season saw 18 minutes of court time and gave a 28-fantasy point performance. She makes a for a dart throw value play in GPP.
