WNBA DFS 7-12-19 – Zo’s Slate Breakdown

Sparks vs Fever

First game of the night and of course we have injury news. CP3 is currently expected to miss this game with an ankle sprain. With CP3 out this is a boost to all the starters for the Sparks and should slot Chiney Ogwumike back into the starting role. Chiney is a great play as we know what she is capable of in a starting role. Chiney sister Nneka should see a big usage bump and lead the team along with C. Gray at the point. R. Williams is also in considerations since see seems to have secured the starting SG role and is the real deal. Lastly with Chiney expected back in the starting line up we should see L. Brown slide in and get those back up minutes at good value.

On the Fever I’m only interested in Teaira McCowan. McCowan has been a steady contributor for the Fever even when she has come off the bench, she is still seeing big minutes. In this match up tonight with the Spark she will be needed to deal with both the Og sisters. I will not be messing with the Fever guards on this big slate as it is always a toss up as to who will have the hot hand.

Lynx vs Dream

The Lynx will still be missing D. Danatas again tonight which means that Talbot should be starting again. Talbot is still in play for value as she will see those minutes once again. Both Collier and Fowles are walking double-doubles against the Dream who have been struggling to guard bigs. Over the last few games D. Robinson has seen a nice uptick in minutes and is far to cheap on FD where she should be considered a great cash game play. Sims is Sims, super clutch and high usage but far to high of a price tag on this slate.

Over the last few games the Dream have been keeping games close and not getting blown out. If Sykes is still a starter, she makes for a cheaper play than Hayes. Hayes is strictly a GPP play for me today as she is very scoring dependent. R. Montgomery price on FD is intriguing as she seemed to finally snap out of her funk last game with 25 fantasy points. The match up for the forwards here is one most will stay away from but makes them great for GPP. J. Breland price on FD is cheap enough for us to take a shot on her there.

Mercury vs Sun

Is today the day we finally see D. Taurasi make her season debut? She is once again listed as questionable and will be news we will have to monitor once again tonight. If DT plays, we know all the Mercury starters will take a hit as we don’t know what this team will look like fantasy wise with her back. If DT is still out, then Bonner and Griner are still great plays in what should be a close game. Griner is coming off 4 great games and is once again in play, but the DFS bias in me may look to fade her for some of the other forwards on the slate. I will not be falling for the B. January ceiling game trap, but she is worth a dart throw if making multiple GPP line ups.

Does anyone know what has happened to the Sun? The Sun have lost 4 games in a row and look completely lost! Due to the losing streak the prices on some of our favorite players on the Sun have been reduced. J. Jones has been struggling during this losing streak and is a great price to take a chance on that this will be her bounce back night. J. Thomas on FD is also priced to cheap as well for a player with her upside. C. Williams is a GPP flyer I don’t have much interest in but will look at B. Holmes who has been playing more minutes over the last few games and back to back games with double digit scoring.

 Liberty vs Sky

The Liberty have gotten a few players back from oversea ball making the rotations deep at both guard and forward. The guards we will have to wait and see how B. Hartly being back affects the rotation and players like T. Wright who stepped up in her absence. Only 2 guards who should be safe from a massive in minutes would be K. Nurse and A. Durr who both had a secure hold on high 20-30 minutes before Hartley left. At forward R. Gray should be seeing a few less minutes with Amanda back and should be headed back to her bench roll. Of course, AZB being back is a hit on T. Charles usage but she is still one of the most productive players in the WNBA and in a fantastic matchup with the Sky. Last time against the Sky Tina flopped and this is a perfect bounce back spot for a big Tina game.

There are just so many piece on the Sky it is hard to pinpoint who will have the big game sometimes. We have seen Sloot dominate in this spot before, and after flopping last game this is a spot to jump on her in GPP. S. Dolson has continued to see her price drop and is a solid value option on FD. Last time out the Sky played the Libs she saw 33 minutes of action which her highest minutes was played this season.

Wings vs Storm

More injury news today, the Wings will be without I. Harrison (concussion) and A. Stevens (Foot). Luckily for the Wings they get G. Johnson back just in time to help with all these injuries. T. Plaisance could slide back into the starting lineup for Izzy taking those minutes with I. McGee-Stafford taking the back up minutes. K. Thornton has been a consistent player for the Wings, and I could see her having a big game here tonight.

My favorite play across the board tonight is between N. Howard and M. Russell. We know we can attack the Wing at the PF and Center position. Howard has been great all season but has not had one of her big fantasy games in sometime now, due to this her price has dropped a bit on FD where I love it tonight. Russell is coming off a poor offensive night and should bounce back her today scoring more than 2 points.
