It’s time for the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown, the 144th Preakness Stakes! This race will be held at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a 3 year old race and they will run 1 3/16th miles, with the purse being $1.5 Million. This is the first time since 1951 that the first 4 horses to cross the finish line at the Kentucky Derby will not be racing in the Preakness. There are only 3 horses that finished inside the top 9 racing here, so it should set up for a close competitive race.

My pick to win:

Improbable comes in after finishing in 4th place in the Kentucky Derby and really ran a good race at churchill downs. He was just about to make his move before getting cut off and being forced to moved out wider on the track. He is the only Grade 1 winner in the field. He got a good starting position and should jump out in the lead early. Improbable has the Hall of Fame combination of Jockey Mike Smith, and Trainer Bob Baffert. As I am writing this he is listed at +190 on MyBookie.

Play: (4) Improbable +190 to win

Longshot to win:

Win Win Win comes in after finishing in 9th place at the Kentucky Derby. The 4 races before the Kentucky Derby he 4 straight top 3 finishes going 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 2nd. Win Win Win is a closer and this race should run fast, which will benefit him. He will come flying at the end, but will he have enough is the question. Right now he is listed at +1500 at MyBookie.

Play: (13) Win Win Win +1500 to win

Trifecta: 4, 13, 7 you can play this straight up or box it
