Karma Nation! It’s that time of the week again, time to get into some PGA bets! We are coming off yet ANOTHER winning week! We went 3-3 last week but hit our big underdog plays to collect 1.2 units on the weekend and produce our 8th STRAIGHT winning week!! Our current record stands at 22-8-1 for a profitable 20.75 units. This weekend we head to Bay Hill Golf Club and look to build off this past weekend and keep the momentum rolling as we strive for our 9th straight winning week!

Course Preview:

Bay Hill is a 7,419 yard par 72 and the winner of this event will receive a 3 year tour exemption. This golf course supports many challenges for the golfers including lots of water, out of bounds off the tee, and well placed bunkers guarding various greens. They have widened the fairways here recently, but it still demands accuracy to score well here. They have grown out the rough more recently and support various fairway bunkers located in key landing areas and there is out of bounds lining multiple fairways. Bay Hill has 9 holes that will have water coming into play either off the tee box or guarding the greens. Long Iron play will be a key stat to look at as all four Par 3s are at least 199 yards ranging up to 231 yards. Hole #16 was the easiest hole last year as it played at .64 strokes under par, the par 5 is reachable in 2 shots with a good drive, and saw 233 birdies and 24 eagles in 2018. The final 2 holes present a challenging finish as they ranked 6th and 2nd hardest last year. #17 is a 221 yard par 3 with water and bunkers surrounding it. #18 has OB up the left side of the fairway and thick rough to the right of the fairway. The green is protected by a pond on the front right and has bunkers to the left side and behind.

The Bets:

For this weeks first bet we are looking at the Howell vs Bubba match-up. Howell is entering this event in his best form ever 5 of his past 6 events he has secured a T20 finish or better with 2 top 10s. He has gained at least 6 strokes total in his past 3 events. He positive strokes gained tee to green in every start this year. 4 of his last 5 events he has gained 2 or more strokes putting. He has also been great at avoid bogeys or worse in every start. Bubba is losing .09 strokes putting on Bermuda grass. He hasn’t finished better than 36th here in past 3 tries getting 66th last year.

Howell > Watson -125 1u

Next we look to the Byeong-hun An vs Zach Johnson match-up. Zach Johnson switched caddies this year and has been struggling coming off a 59th place finish at the Honda Classic. An is 4th in strokes gained tee to green this year, but his putter has been letting him down this year. He has lost 4.1 and 5.6 strokes gain putting in his last 2 events. Putting is one of the easier fixes and he does prefer bermuda grass over poa having .835 strokes gained putting difference. Last week he gained 8.4 strokes tee to green and 5 strokes approach he just couldn’t figure out the putter finishing in 36th place.

An > Johnson -125 1u

Our final match-up we look to Marc Leishman vs Francesco Molinari.  Leishman is a past winner here in 2017. His last 3 appearances here he has gone 7th, 1st, and 17th. He got out to a fast start this year with 3 top 5s! In his last event down in Mexico he finished in 62nd place mostly due to a horrible performance losing 9 strokes putting. He much prefers bermuda grass to poa as he has a +.22 SG putting vs a -.29 SG putting on poa.

Leishman > Molinari -105 1u

Leishman T10 +250 1u

Poulter T20 +200 1u

Howell T20 +250 1u

Long Shots:

Poulter 50-1 to win .1u

An 75-1 to win .1u
