Karma Nation! We have a rare team competition tournament going on this weekend. The Format for this event will be split between Four Ball and Foursomes. Four Ball also known as best ball will be played during rounds 1 and 3. Foursomes also known as Alternate Shot will be played during rounds 2 and 4. This event will have 80 2 person teams in the field with the top 35 teams including ties making the cut. There is a lot to gain in winning this event, as the winning team will both receive a 2 year exemption and eligibility into future invitational events. The Players Championship, Tournament of Champions, and the PGA Championship are among the events the winning team will gain access to.

Course Preview:

The Zurich Classic will be played at TPC Louisiana. TPC Louisiana is a Par 72 course that runs 7,425 yards. This is another track designed by the great Pete Dye, so you know there will be alot of water in play and will feature many doglegs going in both directions. The Par 3s here will all play over 200 yards. The Par 5s will range from 548-585 yards and are all pretty straight and reachable. The final three holes will each feature water in play on each at some point. #16 has a narrow fairway protected by bunkers on the right and a tree line to the left side, with water to the left and surrounding the back of the green. #17 is a 215 yard Par 3 that has water guarding the left side. #18 is a 585 yard Par 5 that has a lake running down the right side spanning the length of the hole.

The Bets:

Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown return here to try and break though this time. They finished runner up losing in a playoff in 2017 and held the 54 hole lead last year before blowing up on the final day shooting 77 and finishing T15. Kisner has made 9 straight cuts and has finished inside the top 30 in 8 of those 9 events. Scott Brown has had an up and down season so far. He finished in 7th 3 weeks ago at Valero and has 3 top 10s since the Farmers, but also has 5 Missed cuts. I think we get the good Scott Brown and the ever so consistent Kisner this week as they seem to jell playing together in this format.

The Play: Kisner/Brown T20 +125 1 unit

Billy Horschel and Scott Piercy will team up once again this year as they look to defend their title having won this event last year. Billy Horschel has made 9 of 10 cuts to start his 2019. Horschel has only had 1 top 20 in his last 8 events as he comes here in shaky form. He has lost SG total in 2 of his last 3 events including -4.9 at the masters in a 56th place finish and -7.1 strokes at Valero for a missed cut. Bubba Watson and JB Holmes are back together after not playing together last year. In 2017 they finished in a tie for 5th place. Holmes has been boom or bust this year but is coming off 2 straight made cuts and has a win on his record this year. Bubba Watson has been playing some great golf this year under the radar. He is averaging 5 strokes gained in his last 5 events. He comes in off a 12th place finish at the Masters and a 4th place at Valspar. He has gained strokes in 6th of his last 7 with 4 of them totaling 6+ strokes gained. These two bombers will look to find that form they had in 2017 when they finished in the top 5.

The Play: Watson/Holmes +105 1 unit

Rory Sabbatini and Brian Gay will be teaming up this year. Sabbatini comes in to this event in great form making 6 straight cuts finishing no lower than 39th and is coming off a 10th place finish last week. He gained 7.9 strokes last week and has gained 2.5 or more in his last 6 events. Brian Gay as been consistent this year making 8 of his last 9 cuts and has a top 10 and a top 20 this year. They are matched up with Brian Harman and Patton Kizzire. Harman has been a dumpster fire latley missing 5 of his last 6 cuts. He last lost strokes in 9 of his last 11 events.

The Play: Sabbatini/Gay -115 1 unit

Longshots:

Rahm/Palmer 16-1 to win

Kisner/Brown 32-1 to win
