Karma Nation! We are coming off seeing the greatest comeback story in sports history! 22 years after winning his first Masters and having to go through numerous surgeries in the past 5 years, and not even knowing if Tiger would be able to swing a golf club again…Tiger Woods wins his 5th green jacket! I had goosebumps watching Tiger walk up #18 holding a 2 shot lead knowing he was about to make history! This week we are looking to bounce back from a rough Masters on the betting side and build off our 18.55 units we are up this season!

Course Preview:

This week we are at Harbour Town, which is another Pete Dye golf course. Harbour Town is a Par 71 and only plays at 7099 yards long. This golf course will force you to hit tree lined fairways, putting emphasis on Accuracy off the tee boxes. Shot placement is huge here needing to be in the correct spots to be able to attack these little greens. Distance here is pretty much irrelevant with the average distance off the tee being 273 yards last year. The greens here are some of the smallest on tour and very tough to hit. Friday the weather looks brutal with winds over 20 mph and very high chances of rain. I will be looking at golfers that have good bogey avoidance, with Par being a good score here.

Key Stats:

SG: Approach

Accuracy

SG: Ball Striking

Bogey Avoidance

Scrambling

The Bets:

Ian Poulter vs Jim Furyk -110

Jim Furyk didn’t qualify for the Masters this year, but has been in great form finishing in the top 25 in 5 of his last 6 events including 2 top 10s. He finished runner up to Rory at The Players by 1 stroke. He has gained strokes in 6 straight events gaining at least 2 strokes in approach. Furyk is gaing 1.3 strokes in windy conditions which will be needed with the weather forecast this weekend. Poulter is coming off a 12th place finish at the Masters. Golfers have historically not finished well the week after the Masters having made the cut.

Play: Jim Furyk -110 1u

Matt Wallace is coming off a missed cut at the Masters, but had finished 33rd or better in his 4 previous starts on the PGA. He gained strokes in approach in his previous 3 events and has a positive rating in drives gained. Besides the Masters he has been good at avoiding bogeys. Wallace is 3rd in scrambling gaining at 4.8 strokes.

Play: Matt Wallace T20 +300 1u

Sungjae Im didn’t quailfy for the Masters and finally got a week off. He is coming off 3 top 10s in his last 5 events. He has gained at least 9.5 SG total in 3 of his last 5 events, gaining 5.5 in another. He is averaging 2.7 SG APP in his last 5 events. Im is gaining positive strokes in all key stats im looking at this weekend. Im is gaining 1 stroke in windy conditions. He is 4th in GIR gained, 5th in 150-175 proximity, and 18th in fairways gained.

Play: Sungae Im T20 +200 2u

Byeong Hun An didn’t quailfy for the Masters either. He has been one of the hottest ball strikers on tour this year, but his putting as just been horrible! An is 1st in SG T2G, 2nd Ball striking, 2nd Off the Tee, 7th Approach, 9th Around the green. An comes in ranking 123rd in putting losing an average 3.2 SG per event in his last 10 events. He finished 7th at Valero losing 6 strokes putting! He has 2 top 10s in his last 3 starts and has the ability to win if he can just have a break even week putting. He also gains nearly 2 strokes in very windy conditions. An finished 7th here last year and he should have no trouble claiming a top 20 this week if he can just be decent at putting.

Play: Byeong Hun An T20 +200 2u

Longshots:

Adam Schenk T20 +550

Sungae Im 40-1

Byeong Hun An 40-1

Matt Wallace 75-1
