As NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!
The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays. This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned and 'contrarian' relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night. Remember you can access the more "safe"/"cash" plays by visiting ackarmasports.com > NBA > NBA Premium Articles. I would recommend taking a few of Bens players to build a "core lineup" around and then sprinkle in a few players from my article. THIS IS HOW YOU WIN TOURNAMENTS!!!!
Fanduel: Kemba Walker
Draftkings: Kemba Walker
FADE: Austin Rivers
Game Theory: Over the past 10 games the Pelicans are leading the league in pace and should be able to dictate the pace at home against the Hornets tonight. Kemba has a really favorable individual matchup and should be a prime bounce-back candidate tonight after three down games against some tough opposing defenses (Sixers/Spurs). Game log watchers are going to be down on Kemba today and definitely lower the ownership of a player who has 50+ fantasy point upside.
Fanduel: Devin Booker
Draftkings: Victor Oladipo
FADE: Lou Williams
Game Theory: I've never seen my model rank someone as high as it's ranking Devin Booker today. The huge slate and the "probable" tag will lower Booker's ownership in a smash matchup against the Cavs who play high in pace and play no defense. Booker is going to have all the usage he can handle to keep up with LeBron James and company. The only way I can see Booker not crushing tonight is if this game blows-out or if the Cavs double-team Booker everytime he touches the ball or comes off a pick & roll.
Fanduel: TJ Warren
Draftkings: Otto Porter
Fade: LeBron James on Fanduel
Game Theory: Another player I love at the SF from this Cavs/Suns game who is actually not LeBron James, is TJ Warren. Lebron's price tag at 12.5k on Fanduel is going to lead to a FULL fade for me. There is no way he's hitting 5x tonight and you're going to need 6-7x out of most of your players to hit big in a GPP on this massive slate. Warren is only 7k and has consistently seen mid 20% usage for the Suns, boasting multiple 50 FP games this year.
Fanduel: Carmelo Anthony
Draftkings: Larry Nance Jr.
Fade: Markieff Morris
Game Theory: Melo helped me bring in a cool $10,000 last night so you know I have to go back to him again today. Priced below 6k he brings a lot of upside to the table if he can find his rhythm with the Thunder. Melo is not going to see any ownership again tonight and is in an up-pace matchup against a team that is in the bottom half of the league in covering the guard position.
Fanduel: Marcin Gortat
Draftkings: Myles Turner
Fade: Joel Embiid
Game Theory: Gortat's price on Fanduel has certainly been on a roller coaster this season rising up to the 5k range and back down below 4k in the span of a couple weeks. I'm going to have exposure to Gortat at this price in GPP's tonight as he does not need to do much to crush his 3.7k price tag. Paying up at center tonight seems to be the way most people are approaching their lineup construction, so I suggest going a bit more contrarian and rolling out Gortat as a punt.
