Call of Duty Friday Breakdown – London Home Series 7/17/20

This weekend we have the London Royal Ravens Home Series in the Call of Duty League. The teams competing include: Dallas Empire, Florida Mutineers, London Royal Ravens, Los Angeles Guerillas, New York Subliners, OpTic Gaming Los Angeles, Paris Legion and Seattle Surge.

In this article, I will break down the matches for Friday, July 17th. After last weekend, we saw how the new AR meta has impacted the competitive Call of Duty scene. However, we have a couple of teams that we’ll get to see play with these new changes for the first time. With that said, let’s hop right into the matchups.

Dallas Empire vs. Paris Legion

The Paris Legion showed a bit of improvement at the end of last weekend’s New York Home Series, but they still don’t look great. On the other side, we get to see Empire play with this new meta. In this matchup, I think that the Empire have too much firepower for the Legion and should win the series easily.

Favorite Plays

Shotzzy, DAL (FD:$10,400, DK:$9,800) – I think that all the pricing for Empire is a little too high and it’s difficult to fit the players in your lineups. However, if I had to pick one, I would definitely lead toward Shotzzy as he’s arguably the best player in the game.

Louqa, PAR (FD: $8,600, DK: $9,400) – Louqa has been the only bright spot in the Legion lineup in recent weeks. In his last three matches, Louqa has posted 100+ FP on FanDuel. However, this could be a very tough matchup for him and the Legion as they face one of the best teams in the league.

Seattle Surge vs. London Royal Ravens

London has looked like a solid team recently, but they haven’t been able to beat the top teams in the league. This matchup they get an easier matchup, but I think it may be tougher than people think. We haven’t seen Seattle play in quite a few weeks, but I think that they will surprise people as the new meta should help them.

Favorite Plays

Wuskin, LON (FD: $10,000, DK: $7,800) – Wuskin has been a top AR all season long, but with the recent changes, he’s looked even better. In the last event, he consistently put up huge numbers including 163.8 FP on FanDuel and 143 FP on DraftKings in his last match.

Octane, SEA (FD:$8,900, DK:$10,000) – Similarly to Wuskin, Octane has been a top AR all year, he’s just been on a terrible team. For FanDuel, he is priced way too low as he averages 124 FP and constantly has one of the best K/Ds.

Slacked, SEA (FD:8,400. DK:$7,800) – With the new meta, teams have been running two or three ARs and I think this will help Slacked’s value. I expect Slacked to have an AR in his hands on most maps and he should be able to put up some big numbers with a very good price.

Los Angeles Guerillas vs. New York Subliners

In this matchup we get to see the champs from last weekend’s event, the New York Subliners vs. a struggling Los Angeles Guerillas. I think that the momentum from last weekend will carry over and New York should win easily against Los Angeles.

Favorite Plays

Mack, NYSL (FD:$9,800, DK:$9,000) – In the last event, every New York player posted a 1.00 KD or better, they are just such a balanced team. With such a balanced team, you can’t go wrong with any of them, but I think Mack has the highest ceiling. Mack has had a super consistent rookie year and always puts up huge numbers.

NYSL TEAM (FD:$5,600, $1,400) – New York is coming off a huge win in their home series last weekend and have one of the easier matchups for this Friday. For both FanDuel and DraftKings they are one of the cheapest teams, but will most likely get close to the maximum points.

Blazt, LAG (FD: $8,700, $8,400) – Since the Call of Duty League has moved to online, Blazt has been one of the best AR players. In last weekend’s event, Blazt had the best K/D on his team with a 1.17. If this series is competitive, Blazt should be able to put up another great score.

Florida Mutineers vs. OpTic Gaming Los Angeles

This will be an interesting series as we get to see the hottest team in the league, the Florida Mutineers, vs. OpTic Gaming who have a ton of question marks. OGLA will be playing this event with two players, Drazah and Hollow, who will be making their professional Call of Duty debut. We’ll just have to wait and see how they impact a struggling OpTic Gaming, however for Friday I would stay away from them.

Favorite Plays

Owakening, FLA (FD:$10,200, DK:$9,600) – Since Owakening has come into the starting lineup he has instantly become one of the best players in the game. Although his price tag is a bit steep, I think that his play will surely make up for it. He is a perfect flex player and this new meta should make his play even better.

Fero, FLA (FD: $8,100, $7,800) – Fero has become one of the best submachine gun players in the league since moving to online. However, this new AR meta could negatively impact him, but I think that he’ll still manage to get a lot of points because of his aggressive playstyle.
