Antonio’s Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

I hope you’ve been following my waiver suggestions, as we’ve had a lot of hits off the list! Without further ado let’s look at the top waiver wire pickups for Week 4.

Running Back

Panthers – Texans: Christian McCaffrey injury, Chuba Hubbard fantasy

Charles Curtis/USA Today

Target #1: Chuba Hubbard

The crown jewel of the week comes from the unfortunate injury to Christian McCaffrey. Now, CMC wasn’t placed on IR so Chuba probably won’t be a league winner, but he can definitely help struggling teams dig themselves out of early 0-3 and 1-2 starts. Don’t be afraid to blow your FAAB if you’re hurting for RBs.

Target #2: Zack Moss

While it seems like Zack Moss and Devin Singletary go back and forth, Moss may have a hold on the starting job after consecutive weeks of 16 and 18 ppr points. Teams light on RBs should look to use around 20% of their FAAB on Zack Moss.

Honorable Mentions:

Giovani Bernard (3.9% Rostered)

Nyheim Hines (32.2% Rostered)

Wide Receiver

Target #1: Cole Beasley

Cole Beasley is Mr. Consistent and this year is no different. After seeing 13 targets on Sunday, he has once again established himself as a solid flex option. With byes looming in the distance, every team, no matter how good, will need a player like Beasley to keep their team afloat for a week. Pick up Beasley before its too late.

Giants 'focused on' giving Kadarius Toney the ball: Joe Judge

Target #2: Kadarius Toney

Yes, we’ve seen the memes, but the fact of the matter is that with injuries to Sterling Shepherd, Darius Slayton and Kenny Golladay, the Giants may have no other choice but to throw to Toney. While he only received 3 targets Sunday, he did play 66% of the snaps so we are hopeful the targets will come. At only .5% rostered, Kadarius is worth taking a flier on in almost all leagues.

Honorable Mentions:

A.J Green (7% Rostered)

James Washington (.3% Rostered)

Tight End

Target #1: Dawson Knox

We’re going with a Bills theme today. Dawson Knox has become a favorite of Josh Allen’s as of lately. He’s quietly climbed to the TE8 in PPR and is averaging 11 points a week. In a rather weak year for tight ends, Dalton Knox is a solid pick up for teams without an elite tight end or teams in superflex leagues looking for a deeper option.

Target #2: Mike Gesicki

Mr. Big Slot finally had his breakout game; 10 catches on 12 targets for 86 yards. This was a huge sigh of relief for people like myself who have been waiting on the edge of our seat for Gesicki to see the targets he deserves. Gesicki arguably has a ceiling as high as any tight end not named Travis Kelce and he can be had for dirt cheap right now. Go pick him up!

Honorable Mentions:

Dalton Schultz (6.4% Rostered)

Tyler Conklin (.5% Rostered)

Quarterback

Target #1: Derek Carr

“Sleep on Derek Carr at your own risk. Carr has averaged 408 yards and 2 tds in the first 2 weeks of the season. Oh yeah and as we mentioned earlier with Ruggs, these performances came against the Ravens (who just beat the Chiefs) and the Steelers. Carr is playing at an MVP level and is a great option for teams without one of the elite fantasy QBs.” – Me last week. If you didn’t listen to me, you still have a chance as Carr is still only rostered in half of leagues, go pick him up!

Monson: Why it is still too soon to anoint QB Sam Darnold as the Carolina Panthers' savior | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics | PFF
Troy Taormina/USA TODAY Sports

Target #2: Sam Darnold

Moving up from our Honorable Mentions last week, Darnold has been absolutely killing it now that he has distanced himself from the evil Adam Gase. The injury to CMC may slow the offense down as a whole, but this will likely cause Darnold to throw more passes. Darnold is still only rostered in 6.7% of leagues, go get him before someone else does.

Honorable Mentions:

Jared Goff (20.2% Rostered)

Taylor Heinicke (2.0% Rostered)
