Important Notes

The most important note for StatHero is their scoring system. It’s different from what you’re likely used to, and we need to note what the most important aspects are. Quarterbacks are far and away the most important position, specifically passing yards. They get 0.05 fantasy points for every 1 passing yard compared to only 0.1 fantasy points per 1 rushing or receiving yard. For instance, a quarterback would receive 15 fantasy points for 300 yards passing. He would need 3.75 passing touchdowns to reach that. Running backs and receivers would need 1,50 yards to hit that number. They would need 2.5 touchdowns to score 15 fantasy points.

Tight ends are another major part of their scoring. They will receive 1.5 fantasy points per reception, while running backs and wide receivers only receive 1 fantasy point per reception. With StatHero’s current scoring system, it could be a key to stack a team with a dominant quarterback and tight end pairing to go along with the other options on the offense.

The final scoring that could make or break your lineup is the distance bonus. Quarterbacks receive a slightly smaller bonus for long passing touchdowns, while running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends get a bit more of a bonus for touchdowns. Ultimately, you want touchdowns to come from 10+ yards out, which is the distance the bonus’ start at.

Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins/Dalvin Cook/Adam Thielen

Kirk Cousins has been enjoying a solid season. He’s averaging 252.7 yards and 1.9 touchdowns on 29.8 pass attempts per game. He has thrown two or more touchdowns in six of his last seven games. Cousins gets a plus matchup against the Detroit Lions, who are allowing 280.1 passing yards per game. They have also given up 25 passing touchdowns, while recording only 5 interceptions in 2019. The Vikings are -13 point favorites in a game set at 43.5 points. They feature the highest implied team total on the slate at 28.3 points.

Dalvin Cook has been one of the best running backs in the NFL this season. He’s averaging 87.2 yards and 1.0 touchdown on 18.6 carries per game. Cook is also averaging 4.0 receptions for 40.8 yards on 4.8 targets per game. He gets a plus matchup against Detroit, who is allowing 118.0 rushing yards per game this season. They are also allowing their opponents to post 4.4 yards per carry in 2019. The Lions have given up 10 rushing touchdowns this season, as well. Cook saw limited action in his last game after suffering an injury. If he is unable to suit up this weekend, Alexander Mattison will slide into the starting role, and will make an outstanding option.

Adam Thielen has only played in eight games this season. He is averaging 3.4 receptions for 48.9 yards and 0.9 touchdowns on 5.1 targets per game. Thielen’s numbers are a bit skewed by his last pair of games, as he owns only 1 reception for 25 yards and 1 touchdown in those games. He has seen 494 air yards with a 12 aDOT this season. Thielen has also been ultra-efficient with six red zone targets. He has turned those into 5 receptions for 43 yards and 3 touchdowns. Stefon Diggs is the other great receiving option for Minnesota, but Thielen is the better option of the duo, assuming he plays.

Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan/Julio Jones/Calvin Ridley

Matt Ryan has seen plenty of ups and downs throughout the 2019 season. He’s averaging 295.1 yards and 1.8 touchdowns on 40.6 pass attempts per game. He has thrown for 300+ yards in 8 of his 11 games. Ryan gets a matchup against the Carolina Panthers, who are only allowing 229.2 passing yards per game this season. They have only given up 14 passing touchdowns, while recording 13 interceptions. Still, the Atlanta Falcons are -3 point favorites in a game set at 47 points, giving them an implied team total of 25 points.

Julio Jones is in the midst of a great season. He’s averaging 5.8 receptions for 86.4 yards and 0.4 touchdowns on 9.2 targets per game. Jones currently ranks fourth in the NFL with 1,313 air yards. He also boasts a 13 aDOT. He has seen 9 red zone targets in 2019, posting 7 receptions for 34 yards and 3 touchdowns. He’s a consistent option, who comes with tremendous upside, regardless of the matchup.

Calvin Ridley has looked outstanding since the trade of Mohamed Sanu. In 5 games without Sanu, Ridley is averaging 5.8 receptions for 83.4 yards and 0.4 touchdowns on 8.8 targets per game. He has also seen 32 targets over his last 3 games, posting 22 receptions for 319 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ridley is the other high upside option for Atlanta, and he is a must start in this stack.

Miami Dolphins

Ryan Fitzpatrick/Patrick Laird/DeVante Parker

Ryan Fitzpatrick has played in 11 games this season, but he attempted 30 or fewer passes in each of his first 4 games. Over his last 7 games, he’s averaging 261.6 yards and 1.6 touchdowns on 37.3 pass attempts per game. He has added 102 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground in those games, as well. Fitzpatrick gets a matchup against the New York Jets, who are allowing 242.2 passing yards per game this season. They have given up 19 passing touchdowns, while recording only 7 interceptions in 2019. The Miami Dolphins are +5 point underdogs in a game set at 45 points, and they possess an implied team total of 20 points.

Kalen Ballage has been placed on the injured reserve, leaving Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin as the only two running backs who know the playbook this week. Laird saw 10 carries last week, although he only turned those into 5 yards. He also scored a touchdown, though. Most importantly, Laird posted 4 receptions for 43 yards. He also posted 6 receptions for 51 yards a few weeks ago. He’s a threat in the receiving game, adding to the upside of this stack. That’s the most important aspect of Laird’s game for this matchup, as New York features one of the best run defenses in the NFL.

DeVante Parker has quietly been enjoying an outstanding season. He’s averaging 4.4 receptions for 71.2 yards and 0.5 touchdowns on 7.8 targets per game through 12 games. He ranks seventh in the NFL in air yards (1,268), while posting a 13.6 aDOT. Parker has seen nine red zone targets this season. He has posted 4 receptions for 57 yards and 4 touchdowns on those targets. Parker has seen double-digit targets in each of his last four games, and he’s the top receiving option for Fitzpatrick at the moment.
