Slate Thoughts:

  • It’s MAC Wednesday! We have a very strong group of running backs tonight.  The top overall running back tonight is Caleb Huntley.  Huntley has been dominant this year for Ball State, and now he gets a matchup vs. NIU who allows over 200 rush yards per game.  Huntley is averaging over 160 rushing yards per game so far this year.  I expect Huntley to have a big game tonight.  He is the highest priced running back at $8700, so he will cost you a good portion of your salary, but I believe he is a very strong play in all formats tonight.
  • The second running back that I am extremely interested in tonight is Bryant Koback.  Koback, like Huntley, has had a very strong start to the year.  Koback has not only been dominant on the ground, but he has shown he has the ability to be a threat in the passing game as well.  He has 12 targets so far this year, bringing in 11 of those for 111 yards and a touchdown.  With Koback, we get a pretty good discount compared to Huntley.  Koback is priced at $7600 which gives us nearly a $1000 difference between he and Huntley with nearly the same ceiling.  Koback is a great play, and at this minute, I am looking to play both he and Huntley in my main lineup tonight.
  • My top stack of the night will be Ball State.  Ball State have been effective in running the ball, and have shown glimpses of an explosive passing game.  Drew Plitt has looked really good at times this year, but has also had stretches where he lacks consistency.  Tonight he gets a matchup vs. an exploitable NIU defense.  NIU have been better vs. opposing teams passing games, compared to their rushing games, however, they still seem to struggle with their communication on the back end, which creates opportunities for some one like Hall to have some big plays.  I do expect a lot of NIU’s attention to be geared towards slowing Huntley down tonight, so this should open up some room for Plitt, Hall, Tyler and Davis to do some work.  In tournaments it is viable to fade Huntley, play Koback, and stack the Ball State passing attack.
  • Central Michigan is a team that has playmakers all over the field, and they have yet to really have a breakout game.  Kalil Pimpleton is one of the best receivers in the MAC.  Pimpleton is an explosive playmaker, that usually plays out of the slot.  On tonight’s slate Pimpleton is only $5300, which is just too cheap for someone with his talent.  Overall I like this Central Michigan passing game vs a Western Michigan team that struggles vs. opposing teams passing games.  I think this CMU passing attack is poised for a big night.  CMU’s QB D. Richardson is priced at only $6300, and offers us some dual threat ability.  On a small slate like this, he is a good value play.  In tournaments I especially like stacking Richardson/Pimpleton/Sullivan.
  • My main build tonight will focus on building around two of the three stud running backs and then playing mid-tier or value receivers with them.  Some value type receivers I will be looking to play in my main build are K. Pimpleton, Y. Tyler, A. Davis, S. Moore, J. Sullivan.
