Brian’s Top CFB Value Plays 10/24

Below are a few value plays that you can use to fill out your roster, or use to free up salary so you can spend up elsewhere in your lineups. Join us today and get immediate access to our Core Plays and our Discord community. Good luck this week!

Top Value Plays

Quarterbacks

Sam Hartman (Wake Forest): DK 5,800

Wake Forest, minus the Clemson game, has looked pretty explosive on the offensive side of the ball.  They will be facing Virginia Tech this weekend, who also has a very explosive offense.  Hartman will be counted on to keep WF in this game.  At his price point, he will not have to do much to hit value.

Collin Hill (South Carolina):  FD 7,500

This is a FanDuel only play.  Hill and the Gamecocks will take on LSU this weekend.  LSU’s defense has been absolutely putrid this year, and have not been able to slow down a single team they have played.  Mike Bobo has really came in and given this South Carolina offense a new identity.  Establish the ground game and use that to set up the play action.  I expect Hill to easily hit value at his price and he also comes with a pretty decent ceiling.  I think it is important that if you do roster Hill, make sure you stack him with his top receiver Shi Smith, who is one of the best receivers in the SEC.

Others: B. Hockman (NCST);  C. Bazelak (Missouri)

Running Backs

Velton Gardner (Kansas):  DK 4,400

Gardner will be taking full rein of the Kansas Jayhawk backfield this week.  Pooka Williams has decided to opt out of the rest of the season, which will open up more opportunities for Gardner.  Gardner is priced to low for his now increase in opportunities.  He will be in a tough matchup this weekend, and Kanas is well.. AWFUL.  However, I think if you need to save some salary, this is a place you can look.

John Lovett (Baylor):  DK 4,300   FD 7,400

Baylor has only played two games so far this year, so we are still learning a lot about this team.  One thing that has been apparent through the first two games is that they seem to split carries pretty evenly between Lovett and Ebner, with Lovett getting slightly more opportunities through the first two games.  For some reason Lovett is listed 2k cheaper than Ebner.  The matchup vs. Texas is not a great matchup for these running backs. For 4,300 you could do much worse.  One thing you can count on is Lovett will get 12-15 touches.

Others: S. Conner (Ole Miss)

Wide Receivers

Dazz Newsome (UNC):  DK 4,300  FD 7,000

Dazz Newsome is 4,300 on DK? .. I know  that he has had a rough start to the year, but this price is crazy.  Expectation is that this UNC offense will start clicking sooner, rather than later.  I expect us to see the version of the UNC offense that we saw last year.  Dazz is heavily involved in this offense, and UNC will continue to find ways to get the ball to Newsome and get their stud playmaker going.  I think Newsome is a good play in all formats this week, especially on DK.

Josh Ali (Kentucky):  DK 4,700

Kentucky gets to face a Missouri defense that has allowed over 300 passing yards per game this year.  Now Terry Wilson is not the gun slinger that will chuck the ball around 30 times, but when he does throw the ball, he looks Ali’s way often.  Ali is priced very reasonable and I can see a scenario where he crushes value at that price.  Ali will be very low owned, especially being priced right beside Seth Williams, who is a phenomenal play in his own right at only $4,900.
