Jason’s NFL Monkey Knife Fight Props (Week 2 – Monday)

Monkey Knife Fight Over Under:

Cleveland Browns at New York Jets

The Cleveland Browns were embarrassed by the Tennessee Titans week 1, losing 43-13. At least Cleveland fans didn’t have to endure a heartbreaking fourth-quarter failure. The New York Jets, on the other hand, blew a fourth-quarter lead to the Buffalo Bills, ultimately ending up on the losing end of a 17-16 game. If that wasn’t bad enough, the future of the Jets’ organization, Sam Darnold, is out for the foreseeable future with mononucleosis. After opening as only 2.5-point favorites earlier in the week, the Browns are currently 6-point favorites over the Jets in New York.

Monkey Knife Fight is currently offering bettors the opportunity to select either over or under on two player’s – Baker Mayfield and Le’Veon Bell – fantasy point production. If the prop prediction turns out to be accurate, this contest pays out 2.41x.

Baker Mayfield disappointed against the Titans, but a majority of the blame can be attributed to the Browns’ offensive line. The Titans pressured Mayfield early and often, recording 5 sacks on 73 offensive snaps. Mayfield’s averaged 7.5 yards per attempt and 11.4 yards per reception. This week, against the Jets’ defensive line, he should see plenty of time in the pocket, which will open up routes downfield. Josh Allen was hit 9 times by the Jets’ defensive linemen, but he was only sacked once. Quinnen Williams was largely ineffective, not recording a single stat, and the most impressive players from the Jets’ 2019 debut were Steve McClendon and Henry Anderson. As long as the pressure is thwarted, Mayfield should be able to find open wide receivers in Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. On top of all that, the Jets’ offense is going to struggle with Trevor Siemian at the helm, so the Browns’ offense should have a high time-of-possession. Two touchdowns is a very realistic prediction for Mayfield this week, and he should find the over, which is currently set at 19.5 total fantasy points.

The Jets should rely heavily on Le’Veon Bell this week, as Trevor Siemian is far from a reliable option at the QB position. However, Bell is currently dealing with a shoulder injury, and he is listed as questionable to suit up. The MRI came back clean, which means that his questionable status is likely precautionary, but it is still concerning. The shoulder is a part of the body that has a high likelihood of re-injury, and if the Browns are winning handily in the second half, Bell could see the bench early. Even if he doesn’t, it is unlikely that he sees 100% of the offensive snaps, which he did week 1. On the ground, Bell was far from elite, but his ability to pick up fantasy points in the passing game was fruitful. Siemian’s inaccuracy and poor decision making should help undermine that effort, and Bell, outside of securing two touchdowns, should see under 18.5 total fantasy points.

Recommended Players: Baker Mayfield OVER 19.5 and Le’Veon Bell UNDER 18.5
