NFL DFS – Bales’ Favorite StatHero Stack for Week 13

The most important note for StatHero is their scoring system. It’s different from what you’re likely used to, and we need to note what the most important aspects are. Quarterbacks are far and away the most important position, specifically passing yards. They get 0.05 fantasy points for every 1 passing yard compared to only 0.1 fantasy points per 1 rushing or receiving yard. For instance, a quarterback would receive 15 fantasy points for 300 yards passing. He would need 3.75 passing touchdowns to reach that. Running backs and receivers would need 150 yards to hit that number. They would need 2.5 touchdowns to score 15 fantasy points.

Tight ends are another major part of their scoring. They will receive 1.5 fantasy points per reception while running backs and wide receivers only receive 1 fantasy point per reception. With StatHero’s current scoring system, it could be a key to stack a team with a dominant quarterback and tight end pairing to go along with the other options on the offense.

The final scoring that could make or break your lineup is the distance bonus. Quarterbacks receive a slightly smaller bonus for long passing touchdowns, while running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends get a bit more of a bonus for touchdowns. Ultimately, you want touchdowns to come from 10+ yards out, which is the distance the bonus’ starts at.

Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins/Dalvin Cook/Adam Thielen

Cousins caught fire over the last couple of weeks, and he’s been enjoying a solid 2020 season. He’s thrown for 2,768 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions on 320 pass attempts through 11 games. He’s also thrown for 3+ touchdowns in 5 of those 11 games, including each of the last 2 weeks. Cousins gets an elite matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who feature one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. They’re allowing 279.5 passing yards per game and a league-high 8.6 adjusted yards per attempt in 2020. Jacksonville’s allowed 23 passing touchdowns this season, as well. The Minnesota Vikings are 10.5 point favorites in a game set at 52.5 points, and they boast an implied team total of 31.5 points this weekend.

Cook’s been enjoying an elite season, playing 64% of the offensive snaps for Minnesota. Through 10 games, he owns 1,130 yards and 13 touchdowns on 219 carries. He’s added 29 receptions for 255 yards and 1 touchdown on 34 targets, as well. Cook ranks fifth in the NFL in red zone carries (36). He’s turned those into 126 yards and 10 touchdowns, although he doesn’t own any red zone targets this season. Jacksonville’s also struggled against the run, allowing 136.2 rushing yards per game in 2020. They’re giving up 4.5 yards per carry, as well, while allowing 14 rushing touchdowns. Cook will benefit from an early lead in this game, allowing him to see extra carries throughout the second half.

Thielen missed the game last week due to contact tracing, but he’s still played 92% of the offensive snaps this season. He owns 49 receptions for 646 yards and 11 touchdowns on 76 targets through 10 games. Thielen’s been heating up in recent games, as well, posting 12 receptions for 166 yards and 4 touchdowns on 18 targets over his last 2 games. He’s the preferred red zone option, turning a team-high 14 red zone targets into 13 receptions for 108 yards and 10 touchdowns. Thielen boasts a 13.3 aDOT, recording 1,011 air yards in 2020. Overall, he’s accounted for 36.7% of Minnesota’s air yards. He’s expected to return to full snaps this season, most importantly taking over his red zone role.
