Quarterback

Baker Mayfield

Mayfield’s seen plenty of ups and downs throughout the 2020 season. He’s thrown for 3,826 yards with 29 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on 520 pass attempts over 17 games. Mayfield’s added 168 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground, as well. He boasts a 5.3% touchdown rate to go along with a career-low 1.6% interception rate.

Mayfield’s inconsistencies have been his biggest issue throughout the season. He’s recorded single-digit fantasy points in 4 of his 17 games. With that being said, he’s posted 30+ fantasy points a trio of times this season. Mayfield’s also been heating up in recent weeks, scoring 16+ fantasy points in 6 of his last 7 games. Overall, he’s averaging 22.3 fantasy points per game over that span. Mayfield recorded 2+ touchdowns in 5 of those 7 games while recording 300+ passing yards in a pair of those games. He’s been better on the road this season, as well, averaging 18.9 fantasy points per game outside of Cleveland.

Mayfield gets an interesting matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend. Kansas City is allowing 236.2 passing yards per game and 6.9 adjusted yards per attempt this season. They’ve given up 29 passing touchdowns in 17 games. The Chiefs have been slightly above average in terms of rushing the passer, recording a 24.2% pressure rate this season. The Cleveland Browns are currently +10.5 point underdogs in a game set at 57.5 points. They boast an implied team total of 23.5 points, which is the second-lowest on the slate behind the Baltimore Ravens. Mayfield is a player that will go overlooked with Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson all playing this weekend. With that being said, the Cleveland quarterback comes with an absurdly low price tag and will be forced to throw throughout this game. He quietly boasts elite upside for one of the lowest price tags on this slate for his position.
