2019 3M Open – Trevis’ Punt Plays

Bet on MyBookie

For those of you new to the plethora of content DFSKarma.com puts out on a daily/weekly basis, this is my weekly PGA article that focuses on the cheapos no one else dare write about. It had massive success last year with my getting sub $7K (DK) golfers finishing top 10 at less than 1% ownership on an almost weekly basis. Well, I’m bringing it back this year with the same concept. My cap this year is $7300 in DraftKings pricing (but you can still play them on FanDuel, FantasyDraft, or Yahoo). I focus on recent form and course history heavily to spit out my favorite 5 golfers from within that range.

That being said, my PGA Punt Plays article looks a little different (for the better) moving forward. You will see below that I have highlighted 5 players within Fantasy National within my price range of $7300 and below.

Recent Form

Here we have a second consecutive week of a new course in a new event. No tournament history yet again. That being said, Bill freaking Haas is #1 overall in my model. Weird right? Crazier things have happened, but I’m definitely plugging him all over the place.

Hunter Mahan is 5th overall in total strokes gained on comparable courses. I like him just as much as I do Haas. And he is min salary too!

Roberto Castro clocks in at 6th overall and doesn’t have the top 5 stats that the previous two guys offer. I’m still confident in him squeaking in the cut line this week.

Garrigus DOES feature some Top 5 stats, however that bentgrass putting game is not something to be ignored. I wouldn’t include him here if I didn’t think he had a shot at making the cut.

Brendan Freaking Steele. This guy cost Anthony a Live Final ticket on Sunday with his downfall performance. However, he did make the cut as I said he would and unfortunately he will again this week, even if his SG: P on bentgrass is a gross 72nd overall.

Shawn Stefani returns to the Punt Plays list as the ONLY Punt this week with no stat worse than 37th overall. At $6600 DK salary, you are paying down and hitting value as long as he makes the cut. With those consistent numbers, I see it happening again.
