2019 Charles Schwab Challenge – Trevis’ Punt Plays

Bet on MyBookie

For those of you new to the plethora of content DFSKarma.com puts out on a daily/weekly basis, this is my weekly PGA article that focuses on the cheapos no one else dare write about. It had massive success last year with my getting sub $7K (DK) golfers finishing top 10 at less than 1% ownership on an almost weekly basis. Well, I’m bringing it back this year with the same concept. My cap this year is $7300 in DraftKings pricing (but you can still play them on FanDuel, FantasyDraft, or Yahoo). I focus on recent form and course history heavily to spit out my favorite 5 golfers from within that range.

GREAT NEWS! We have officially partnered with the premier PGA DFS data services of Fantasy National

That being said, my PGA Punt Plays article looks a little different (for the better) moving forward. You will see below that I have highlighted 5 players within Fantasy National within my price range of $7300 and below.

2019 Charles Schwab Challenge

This event is played at the Colonial Country Club as a Par 70 at 7209 yards. This course features Bentgrass greens.

Recent Form

Niemann is the highest Punt Play in my model, coming in at 7th overall in total strokes gained. Surprising because he is almost dead last in SG: ARG. With 5 stats clocking in the Top 23 though, I’m confident in plugging him this week.

Corey Connors is a big wild card for me. Last few events on bentgrass greens were awful but everything else is top notch. He is 14th overall in my model.

Bud Cauley is someone I wrote about plenty last season. I really like him this week and would even go as far as saying he will “definitely” make the cut. He is ties with CC at 14th overall in my model.

Danny Lee is one MC away from getting on my black list. He never does what I want him to, when I need him to. That aside, he does have 3 stats ranking in the Top 4, which is nothing to scoff at.

I wrote up Stefani earlier this month and he did well for me. Back to the well again as I feel that $6800 is going to force me into being over exposed on him. He is 19th overall in my model.

Bill Haas is another pain in my side. I’ll see him in the Top 20 through Round 2, then see him go +10 through the weekend. Here’s to hoping he doesn’t take a dump on Saturday/Sunday.

Tournament History

Danny Lee hasn’t finished worse than 22nd here in the last 4 years. Back to back Top 15 finishes. I’m locking him in a lot of lineups, and if he fails me, you will never see his name in my piece again.

Mr. Pain-In-My-Side Bill Haas also has back to back Top 15 finishes at this event. I will also add him to the black list along with Danny Lee if he misses the cut this week.

CC played here once, just last year, and finished 8th. Great showing for a first appearance.

Niemann is the same story. Tied with CC for 8th in his first appearance here.

Bud doesn’t have a ton of course history cred here, besides not missing the cut. So there’s that…

Cheapo play Stefani took a dump after making the cut here last year. I’d like to think he is going to show his 2015/2016 self and finish in the Top 30.
