Trevis’ PGA Punt Plays – 2019 Masters

For those of you new to the plethora of content DFSKarma.com puts out on a daily/weekly basis, this is my weekly PGA article that focuses on the cheapos no one else dare write about. It had massive success last year with my getting sub $7K (DK) golfers finishing top 10 at less than 1% ownership on an almost weekly basis. Well, I’m bringing it back this year with the same concept. My cap this year is $7300 in DraftKings pricing (but you can still play them on FanDuel, FantasyDraft, or Yahoo). I focus on recent form and course history heavily to spit out my favorite 5 golfers from within that range.

GREAT NEWS! We have officially partnered with the premier PGA DFS data services of Fantasy National

That being said, my PGA Punt Plays article is going to look a little different (for the better) moving forward. You will see below that I have highlighted 5 players within Fantasy National within my price range of $7300 and below.

2019 Masters

This event is played at Augusta National as a Par 72 with Bentgrass greens that stretches to 7,475 yards long.

Recent Form

Charl comes in at 15th overall in my model in total strokes gained. He has 3 stats in the Top 11 and the so-so bentgrass putting ranks won’t move me off him.

Charley Hoffman was in my Punt Plays last week and as I write this he is sitting in 3rd overall as he gets set to tee off for the Final Round. He ranks 21st in my model with a handful of sketchy numbers all around. Coming off a solid 1st 3 rounds in the Valero (who knows if he bombs on Sunday), I think he rides that into a solid Masters performance.

Jimmy Dubs has been written up plenty by me in the last year. He ranks 22nd in my model and also had a solid 1st 3 rounds at the Valero. At $6600 his punt plays are worth a Punt in the DK Milly Maker this week, Especially if you are making at least 10 lineups.

Stewart Cink does NOT miss the cut. He has been in my weekly piece more than anyone else and every single time I have written him up, he makes the cut. 26th overall in my model with no stats jumping out as worrisome. At a very low $6500, I’m locking him in a good majority of my Milly Maker lines.

Sned ranks 27th in my model. His recent form and punt plays shows his knack for performing well on bentgrass greens. The non-putting stats are not too appealing though. I think he makes the cut, but won’t have an insanely high finish.

Tournament History

Charley Hoffman has FOUR straight Top 30 finishes at the Masters. Charley Hoffman is ONLY $6800. The end.

Jimmy Dubs has FIVE straight Top 40 finishes at the Masters. Jimmy Dubs is ONLY $6800. The end.

Sned didn’t compete here last year. However, the 2 years prior he managed to finish in the Top 30 and Top 10. I’m on the fence about plugging him in a lot of Milly Maker lineups, but he will definitely be in at least one.

Charl won the Masters in 2011. Yes, he WON it. Most recently, his best was 3rd in 2017. He has a pattern of miss and make, alternating each year. Since he missed the cut here last year, expect him to definitely make it this year, because…patterns. His punt plays are expected to keep going strong.

This is Cink’s first time competing in the Masters since 2014. Don’t let that detour you from plugging him in though. In the 5 years since, he has still maintained his Mr. MakesTheCut title. Plug away.
