NHL Value Vault -10/12/19

Hello again Karma Nation~

Everyday I wake up and thank God for the NHL and especially days like today when there are 14 games for us to take in. The focus here will be on the 11 games that start at 6PM Eastern time or later.

Your Value Vault will look a bit different today. Due to the vast difference in pricing there are some plays I recommend you take on just one site. Watch for this in future articles as we try to help you maximize remaining salary to spend on your top play makers.

Offense:

  • Drake Caggiula CHI ($3500-DK, $3300-FD) He gets a bump in ice time and will be skating with Toews and DeBrincat on the Hawks top line. The game with Winnipeg has the highest projected goal total on tonight’s schedule and I like the #1 line for each team to do some major damage.
  • Sammy Blais STL ($3800-DK, $3800-FD) Top six and 2nd power play unit skater for the Blues who has started out red hot so far. Is averaging a point per contest and gets to face Montreal’s 23rd ranked defense.

The following skaters are in great spots tonight and can be played on either site but the real value is on the site highlighted:

DraftKings ONLY:

  • Oscar Lindblom PHI ($4400) Is a fixture on Flyer’s 2nd line and power play. Has seven shots in two games and facing Canuck’s mid-pack defense.
  • David Krejci BOS ($3700) DK has this 2nd line center priced way too cheap. He gets 2nd PP time as well, and is at home versus the Devil’s 26th ranked defense.

Fanduel ONLY:

  • Andreas Johnsson TOR ($4700) Is on Leafs top line and #1 PP unit with Auston Matthews. This price makes it easy to stack this entire line today facing Detroit’s 19th ranked defense.
  • Nikolaj Ehlers WPG ($4900) I mentioned the high goal potential of this game. Why not take players on both sides? Ehlers averages three shots a game and figures to hit the scoring sheet tonight.

Defense:

  • Justin Schultz PIT ($4900-DK, $4200-FD) Has looked great directing the Pens #1 PP unit. Never shy about shooting, Schultz has launched 18 shots in four games! Let’s face it, the Wild are just not good right now, ranking 27th defensively.
  • Justin Faulk STL ($4400-DK, $4900-FD) Quiet so far in terms of the score sheet, but I have a hunch he turns it around tonight. Has taken nine shots in his last three games, and like Schultz he directs his team’s top power play.

Goaltending:

  • Jordan Binnington STL ($7700-DK ONLY) Has won two straight with 63 saves during that span. I’m high on St. Louis in this match up and think they will dominate Montreal. Binnington has only allowed seven goals in three games so far. Look for a comfortable win and at least 25 saves out of him tonight.
  • Pavel Francouz COL ($7000-FD ONLY) Makes his first start of the year for the Avalanche at home against a Coyotes team that has only scored 5 goals to date. With all Colorado’s scoring punch, this sets up nicely for a win at a minimum salary hit you take with Francouz.

Here’s hoping you enjoy some hard-hitting action and cash ALL your lineups!
