NHL Value Vault 10/29/19

Hey Karma Nation,

After some needed days off for many teams, the NHL comes back tonight with 18 teams in action. With the recent injuries to significant skaters Tarasenko, Landeskog, & Zibanejad, the opportunity for increased ice time opens up for others. Check back right here to your favorite value source to maximize your lineup potential.

Insights and player picks for tonight’s 9 game schedule-

  1. Teams with greatest chance to win: BOS, TB, NSH, DAL
  2. Highest projected goal totals: WAS@TOR, TB@NYR
  3. Lowest projected goal totals: MIN@DAL, WPG@ANH

Offense:

  • Max Comtois ($2800-DK, $3300-FD) He has been recently elevated to skate with Getzlaf and Ritchie on both the top line and PP unit for Anaheim. Comtois has responded with a point in each of his last three games thanks to the increased ice time. This game feels like it should be a win for the Ducks with their #1 line populating the score sheet.
  • Filip Chytil NYR ($2500-DK, $3000-FD) Will be making his season debut, centering the Ranger’s 2nd line and top PP unit. He was a point per contest skater in the AHL before getting called up due to the Zibanejad injury. He is minimum priced on both sites and primed to hit the score sheet tonight as this game has one of the highest projected totals.
  • Alexander Kerfoot TOR ($3400-DK, $4300-FD) Like Chytil, he also centers his team’s 2nd line and gets time on the Leaf’s second PP unit. Kerfoot has tallied seven points and launched 19 shot in his last 11 games. WAS@TOR has tonight’s highest implied total, and it’s never a bad idea to find value in a game that just might net seven goals.

Others to consider: Zach Zassian EDM ($4000-DK, $4200-FD)                                              Corey Perry DAL ($3400-DK, $4000-FD)

Defense:

  • T.J. Brodie CGY ($3300-DK, $3800-FD) He sees plenty of ice time in the Flames top defensive pairing, and has four assists and five blocked shots in his last four games. Brodie also directs the Flames 2nd PP unit.
  • Esa Lindell DAL ($3500-DK, $3700-FD) Took a puck to the face last week but is back in line for his regular allotment of minutes tonight. This led to a price drop for us to take advantage of especially with Lindell in the Stars top defensive pairing and anchoring the #1 PP unit.

Also consider: Matt Grzelcyk BOS ($2800-DK, $3700-FD)

Goaltenders:

  • Mikko Koskinen EDM ($7600-DK only) Even with this game being on the road, he has a favorable match up versus a punchless Detroit team averaging just over two goals per game. The undefeated Koskinen has a chance to extend his winning streak to six games with a win tonight.
  • Petr Mrazek CAR ($7400-FD only) Should rack up near 30 saves and have a good chance to win at home facing Calgary. Has won five of his six starts, and has saved over 30 in three of his last four. Not the worst price on DK either if you can afford the $7900 there.

Enjoy the pucks!
