NHL Value Vault 11/14/19

                – – -Hey Karma Nation- – –

It will be a little busier around the NHL with 16 teams taking to the ice. More games give us more opportunity to add value to our lineup builds. Here are some of the cheaper plays I like for this slate.

-Insights and player picks for tonight’s 8 game schedule-

  1. Teams with greatest chance to win: TB, FLA, LA, VAN
  2. Highest implied totals: NYR@TB, WPG@FLA, COL@EDM
  3. Lowest implied totals: ARI@MIN, DAL@VAN
  4. Lines to target: TB 1, COL 1, LA 1, SJ 2

Offense:

  • Alex Chiasson EDM ($3100-DK, $3700-FD) plays on the 3rd scoring line but is a top unit PP winger. Chiasson is part of a group of skaters I’ve found tonight with great upside at their price due to their additional PP minutes. This Avalanche/Oilers game has one of the highest implied game totals on tonight’s docket.
  • Andrew Copp WPG ($3300-DK, $3600-FD) is another player that is too cheap for a winger who plays on his team’s top power play. I really like the way Copp’s minutes have picked up over his last four games. It has helped him register three points, 15 shots, and six blocks during that span.
  • Alex Iafallo LA ($3600-DK, $3900-FD) is also a top line/top power play winger with a point in three of his last four, and should see at least 17 minutes tonight. The Kings are home to face Detroit, and this one could get ugly as the whole league seems to be scoring on the Red Wings with ease.

Others to consider: Nick Ritchie ANH ($3600-DK, $3800-FD)                                                 Alex Killorn TB ($3900-DK, $4300-FD)

Defense:

  • Matt Roy LA ($3000-DK, $3500-FD) has had two points, 13 shots and 11 blocks in his last five games. He always seems to be around the puck and is never afraid to jump in on a scoring opportunity.
  • Erik Johnson COL ($3700-DK, $3600-FD) Anchors the second power play unit, and has only had three games under 20 minutes of the 18 he has played this season. He’s not a huge point scorer, but contributes with his share of shots and blocks.

Also consider: Radim Simek SJ ($3300-DK, $3600-FD)                                                   Brad Hunt MIN ($3700-DK, $3800-FD)

Goaltenders: (As of this writing, both are confirmed to start)

  • Adam Werner COL ($7500-Both sites) might just be the best goalie no one knows about yet. His 40-save shutout road win over Winnipeg was impressive. He should see a high volume of shots again tonight in Edmonton and at his price can let in a few and still help you cash.
  • Johnathan Quick LA ($7200-FD only) has been labeled “too old”, and “slowing down” this season. Even aging netminders play well and pick up wins over the course of a long season. This is all about the home match up against Detroit, the team that is dead last in the NHL in scoring at just 2.2 goals per game.

Also consider: Jacob Markstrom VAN ($7900-DK, $7400-FD)

I really hope you cash all your lineups tonight!
