Today’s NHL Value Vault

Hello Karma Nation,

I really like tonight’s slate. There are 22 teams ready to light the lamp, and judging by today’s totals we should see this happen often. With 5-6 teams being heavy favorites, there sure is some value to add to your favorite line stacks.

-Insights and player picks for tonight’s 11 game schedule-

  1. Today’s heaviest favorites: BOS, MON, TB
  2. Highest game totals: NYR@MON, TOR@COL, EDM@VGK
  3. Lowest game totals: NSH@STL, CHI@DAL, MIN@BOS

Offense:

  • Robby Fabbri DET ($3900-DK, $3600-FD) has embraced his trade to the Red Wings with eight points and 13 shots in his last seven games. This price is too cheap on both sites to ignore for a top-six skater heavily involved in Detroit’s top unit power play.
  • Lucas Wallmark CAR ($3100-DK, $3200-FD) plays on the Cane’s 2nd-unit power play, and is coming off his best two games of the season with three points. Carolina has won four of their last five games, and Florida ranks 23rd in defense against opposing centers.
  • Jason Spezza TOR ($2900-DK, $3600-FD) gets time on the Leaf’s 2nd power play unit and has been busing tallying five points in his last six games. I think this might be the highest scoring game of the night, and Spezza will give you an inexpensive piece of it.

Others to consider: Jack Roslovic WPG ($3300-DK, $3500-FD)                                               Pat Maroon TB ($2700-DK, $3000-FD)

Defense:

  • Brett Pesce ($3400-DK, $3800-FD) is way too involved in Carolina’s offense to ignore at this price. He has accumulated four points, eight shots, and 11 blocks in his last 5 games. I feel like the Carolina blueliners are in for a big night versus the Panther’s 28th ranked defense.
  • Neal Pionk WPG ($3800-DK, $3700-FD) has only played less than 20 minutes once in 23 games this season, and has launched 21 shots in his last eight games. His price has reduced just in time for us to take advantage of his 2nd-unit PP time, and the Jacket’s 21st defense against defensemen.

Also consider: Kris Russell EDM ($2500-DK, $3700-FD)

Goaltenders:

  • Laurent Brossoit WPG ($7900-DK, $7300-FD) has won his last two starts and has a good home match up tonight versus Columbus’ second to last ranked offense.
  • Anton Khudobin DAL ($7700-FD only) has won five of his six starts, and only gave up one goal in four of those games. He should pick up another win at home facing Chicago’s mid-pack offense.

Enjoy this great night of hockey and good luck with all your lineups.
