Ricky’s StableDuel Strategy – Gulfstream KICKOFF 12/05/20

View our StableDuel Core Plays for today’s track for FREE by clicking HERE!

Good day folks! Even without StableDuel, Gulfstream Park offers a fantastic betting card. Out of the 11 races on the day, 9 of them are stakes races. Now, factor in the $100 StableDuel contest with the pool currently sitting at a mouthwatering $5,690 at time of writing! I am going to try to hopefully steer everyone in the right direction and help you land on some in the money horses.

If you need a refresher on scoring, please refer back to our debut article that goes a little more in-depth, located here.

High Price Favorites

Jakarta $9,4000 – Race 5
Jakarta will likely be your morning line favorite if the 13 scratches, and is expected to. She is returning to grass and shortening way up from 7F to 5F. Look for her to be at the front of the pack playing catch me if you can… and spoiler: they shouldn’t be able to. Lock this one in as a strong play.

Mid Price Plays

Snap Hook $6,000 – Race 11
I certainly hate needing a horse to do well in the finale of a card, but likely I will be rooting on this moderately-priced horse to propel me to the top of the GulfStream Kickoff event on StableDuel. I’m hoping the stretch out will be better for Snap Hook as he was beat in a photo finish last out at only a mile. Give me Snap Hook to save speed and use it in the extra sixteenth of a mile.

Value Plays

Avant Garde $500 – Race 8
It’s not very often that I can find a value play that I think has a chance to absolutely destroy a field. This horse was gifted a 15/1 morning line tag, which I expect to be closer to 5/1 when this race goes off, and Karma readers will reap the benefits of this horse. While I do think the race is pretty wide open, this horse would need to take a step up in class and prove he belongs. Since switching to dirt, this horse has never finished worse than 2nd on the gulfstream surface, boasting a record of 5: 4-1-0.
