Megan Anderson (-210)/Felicia Spencer (+170)

This is an interesting fight, as I actually lean towards the underdog. Instead of betting on her, I’m opting to take the under, though. Megan Anderson and Felicia Spencer have combined to finish 11 of their 15 MMA wins. Each fighter also has what should be a relatively large advantage in this fight. Anderson will win the striking exchanges, while Spencer holds the edge in grappling. In other words, if this fight stays standing, Anderson makes a great bet for a knockout. If it goes to the ground, I favor Spencer by submission. Personally, I believe the latter will happen, but I feel more comfortable betting overall that it won’t go to decision. If you want to add Spencer inside the distance to get more bang for your buck, I certainly wouldn’t be opposed.

Bet 1.5 units on Anderson/Spencer does NOT go decision to win 1 unit

Julio Arce (-800)

This fight should be fairly one-sided, and the only question is whether Julio Arce can find a finish or not. He’s a versatile fighter, who owns a 2nd degree MMA black belt under Tiger Schulmann. He has finished two of his three UFC wins (including DWTNCS). Arce gets an elite matchup against Julian Erosa, who simply isn’t a UFC talent. He has been knocked out three times in his career, and Arce has the power and striking to find his chin early and often. I don’t expect Erosa to be able to get this fight to the ground, and Arce should have no problems picking him apart. I was originally considering Arce in the first round (+225), but I’m not that confident in his ability to find a quick finish. Instead, I want nearly 15 minutes for Arce to find that knockout shot or accumulation of strikes.

Bet 1.2 units on Arce by KO, TKO, DQ, or Submission to win 1 unit

Grant Dawson (+105)

This is simply a bad matchup, at least stylistically, for Mike Trizano. The Tiger Schulmann trained fighter will look to keep this fight standing and strike from range. He does have two submission victories to his credit, but Dawson is unlikely to fall into an anaconda choke, and Trizano would have to take Dawson’s back for a rear naked choke. Rather, the opposite is more likely. Dawson has the better wrestling, and he will look to take down Trizano. His stamina is great, and his pressure is relentless. He looked very impressive against Julian Erosa in his UFC debut, racking up six takedowns and five advances. Dawson has impressive ground-and-pound, and Trizano is not going to be able to keep up with his pace. In a wrestler-striker matchup between two similarly skilled fighters, take the wrestler, especially if his or her gas tank is not an issue.

Bet 1 unit on Grant Dawson to win 1.05 units
