Dave’s Drivers to Watch – NASCAR DFS – Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500

Wednesday night short track racing at Martinsville is on tap for us this week. This is the first night race at Martinsville and I’m excited to see how this track acts at night and how it affects the racing. There is some weather in the forecast but as we saw a couple weeks ago a forecast isn’t always reliable. Thankfully we have the new short track package that is similar to a couple years ago and not like last year when we had horrible racing at Martinsville. The strategy this week will differ from last weekend. The race is 500 laps so there are a lot of dominator points up for grabs on Draftkings and laps run/led on Fanduel. The target for dominators will be 3 on Draftkings and in some lineups 4 will be acceptable and needed. The pricing is a little soft this week but nailing the dominators this week will be key to your success.

Kyle Busch (DK $10,700 FD $14,500)

Draftkings priced up Jimmie, which was necessary to keep him from being 80% owned driver on Wednesday. However, I feel like they underpriced Kyle. On DK Sportsbook, Kyle is the odds on favorite to win the race, however he is the 5th highest priced driver on the slate. Kyle has finished outside of the top 5 here once in the last ten races including two wins and has led multiple laps in five of those races. Kyle has seemed to find his groove over the last couple of races and is primed for a chance at one of the grandfather clocks in victory lane.

Denny Hamlin (DK $11,900 FD $12,000)

Denny is another JGR driver who has great history at Martinsville and is contender to win on Wednesday night as well. He is $1200 more then Kyle so the savings Kyle gives you allows you to build a slightly better cash lineup. However the upside for Denny is there and expect him to dominate at some point during this race as he has led laps in six of the last seven races here. The amount of value on this slate allows you to get up and grab a couple of these high priced drivers in tournament lineups.

Ryan Blaney (DK $8,400 FD $11,500)

Ryan is last Sundays Chase Elliott. Blaney is on the pole and is only $8400. With his teammate behind him, I expect Ryan will get out front and lead laps until the competition caution. We have seen Blaney have a fast car all season and as long as Joey doesn’t do what he did to Truex here in 2018 Blaney will accrue dom points. Blaney has four top 10s in the last five races here and led 145 laps in the spring race in 2018. Blaney should be chalk in cash games but I do see the argument for going underweight on him in tournaments.

Brad Keselowski (DK $9,500 FD $13,500)

I like all Penske drivers on Wednesday including MDB who is part of the Penske stable driving for Wood Brothers. I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of them this week. However I think Brad comes in right behind Ryan in ownership. Even though we have a new package for short tracks, Brad’s track history stands out as he dominated last year in the spring race leading over 400 laps. Taking last year out, Brad still has good track history here with five top five finishes in the six races prior to last year, leading multiple laps.

Ryan Preece (DK $5,700 FD $5,500)

Preece is a great value option on Draftkings this week. I don’t think you will need to go here on cash on Fanduel however. We have seen this short track package twice this season at Phoenix and Bristol. Preece finished 18th at Phoenix and 12th at Bristol. Last year he finished 16th and 19th here. He will start from the 28th position and presents a great place differential option on Wednesday.

Clint Bowyer (DK $8,600 FD $10,000)

If you are looking for a lower owned potential dominator, Clint could be your guy. He is priced right about drivers such as Ryan Blaney and Christopher Bell, both of who I expect to be pretty chalky on Wednesday. Ahead of him are drivers like Brad and Joey. Starting 4th may scare some off Clint however in the last three spring races he has one win and two seventh place finishes. He has shown speed in this short track package. Remember, dominator points are laps led and fastest laps. I wouldn’t put it past Clint grabbing some fastest laps through this race and could be that sneaky dom that helps you in a tournament.

Any questions message me on twitter @davidjr831 and also remember we have five races this week and subscribing to the NASCAR package today will get you access to all cores and prop plays for every race for only $9.99.
