NASCAR Luke’s List – NASCAR DFS – American Heroes 400

Welcome to my NASCAR DFS Breakdown! In this article, I will preview the race, lineup construction, and offer some of my favorite drivers to target for Sunday’s night race at Darlington Raceway! Race Preview/Lineup Construction

NASCAR is heading to Richmond this weekend for the second race of the playoffs. Some similar tracks we can look at for data are Phoenix and New Hampshire. Usually, races here don’t have much attrition but after last week, who knows. Alex Bowman won here earlier this season, but Hamlin and Truex were the main dominators. This race is 400 laps, so dominator points will play a huge role with 280 available. For lineup construction, we should probably target 2-3 leaders with the value options that offer place differential. With all of that out of the way, here are some of the drivers I’m targeting for tonight’s race.

Joey Logano (DK $10,700 FD $12,500)

Logano has been great at the short tracks this season with finishes of 2nd at Phoenix, 3rd at Richmond, and 4th at Nashville. He also led 49 laps here earlier this season and has six top 5’s over the last eight races at this track. I think he’ll be lower owned than the Joe Gibbs drivers and looks like a great top tier option to target this weekend.

Martin Truex Jr (DK $10,200 FD $14,000)

Truex has led 100+ laps in seven of the last ten races here! He also has two wins, six top 5’s, eight top 10’s, and an AvFn of 6.8. I know he didn’t dominate last week, but he had a penalty and power steering issue. Starting on the front row, Truex could definitely be a dominator and has a ton of upside this weekend.

Austin Dillon (DK $8,100 FD $8,500)

Dillon has ran very well at Richmond with four top 10’s over the last five races. He’s not in the playoffs, so he can gamble which could be a good thing at a track like Richmond. Dillon offers some place differential as well starting 19th and has top 5 potential. He did lead 60+ laps in one of the races here last season as well.

Ross Chastain (DK $7,200 FD $8,300)

Chastain had a great run at Darlington last week finishing 3rd. He’s ran very well in the 750 horsepower package this season, so I could definitely see him running well here tonight. He’s very affordable on DraftKings and FanDuel and offers place differential as well starting 17th. Chastain is a solid option to target in the mid tier.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr (DK $6,700 FD $7,000)

We’re going to have to target some of the value drivers in order to fit all of the top tier plays in our lineups. Stenhouse is a driver I don’t mind targeting because he has three top 15’s and five top 20’s over the last six races. He offers some place differential starting 23rd and could finish around 15th and be a great value play.

Corey LaJoie (DK $5,500 FD $4,000)

LaJoie has three straight top 20’s and has a lot of momentum right now. I was surprised to see them run so well at Darlington and wouldn’t be surprised to see it carry over to here. He’s way too cheap on DraftKings and Fanduel and will probably be one of the highest owned value plays on the slate.
